Have travelled to Ottawa numerous times to ice skate on the Rideau Canal, especially during Winterlude, the first three weekends in February. Lots of interesting sites from the National Arts Centre to Dow's Lake. A few rest spots with concession stands selling Beavertails (a flat cinnamon sugar pastry) and hot chocolate. Rideu Canal located in the city of Ottawa. The most excellent experianced were that I used to skate during winter time along with my friends. Most beautifull place that I ever been. In summer time people walk and jogging along the canal and around the canal those tulips were so nice..I never forget those magnificient moments. more

One of my favourite experiences was skating on the Rideau Canal. Its about 8km long and the ice can be near perfect at times but unfortunately its sometimes very poor ice so try and go on the canal in a cold period when the ice is best. more

Sep 1, 2005. Gray Line tour of Ottawa. Our first driver, Ron, picked us up at the motel at 9:15 and took us to the Kiosk to purchase our tickets [$52 with tax and discount, good for 2 days].
