Your well bitten tour guide will show you through a small roadside zoo filled with crocs, monkeys, deer, small reptiles, and birds. As you gingerly step over crocodiles bigger than you basking in the middle of the zoo walk way, you are reminded that you are not in Kansas anymore. I imagine my family describing my violent death by croc... more
Just like everyone says, this is an experience you can't really get in a traditional zoo. The guides are young and informative, speaking english throughout the tour. You really do get to pet a few crocodiles and giant lizards and the "free rein" wild monkeys did follow us around a little, including the baby. Too cute. The one tip that... more
Definately a must do!!! It was way cool!!! I loved it. We had Frank as our Zoo Guide and he was excellent!!!! I would recommend if you are going to be in Cancun, or anywhere in the Yucatan you have to stop here. Worth every penny, it was actually one of the less expensive things to do.... I held all... more
Stumbled upon this place while searching for things to do while in Akumal. Not really close to Akumal but in my opinion worth the drive!! Depending on when your flight gets in you can hit it on your way out of Cancun. You can't miss the big sign on the side of the road-(the main highway 307) up and down... more
My husband and I loved it!! It was great. A great way to spend the morning. If you want to see animals upclose and personal, then this is perfect. I agree with all the other great reviews. more
This is a must see in the mayan Riviera. We have kids aged 10 and 7 (boys) and a 2 year old daughter. You actually get to hold rather large crocodiles and all the kids loved it. Walking through the Croc pen was also amazing. Feeding the animals was neat and the guide was very informed. Anyone who misses this... more
First, like a couple of others, I was spectical about visiting a "Zoo", thinking that we would see a few poorly treated, caged animals as part of a tourist trap. I was very pleasantly surpised that this was not the case at all. I would classify Crococun more as a Rehabilitation Center than a Zoo. Many of the animals have... more
The crococun zoo was a great day trip and we'd definitelly do it again. The guided tour takes about 1 and a half hours so it won't take up a whole day. You have the chance to touch and hold croccodiles, snakes, parrots, iguanas, hand feed white tailed deer and also feed Spider monkeys and coati. You may also have... more
We had a blast. My son is an animal lover and he says it was the best day of his life. Felt like we had the place to ourselves. Our guide was amazing and worth every cent of his $20 tip. It only took 90 minutes to go thru but wow. I will add some photos. It is a "hands... more
