My husband and I live in Baton Rouge and have been to the Rural Life Museum many times. Each time we go we see something new that we haven't seen before. The grounds are beautiful with the interesting Louisiana houses on them. The dog trot house is my favorite along with the rural church. The museum is great. If you... more

We had fun walking around the ponds where a very animated duck followed us. Also swarms of mosquitoes. Be sure to bring extra-strong mosquito repellent. The small herb and vegetable gardens were also fun to look at. It's a quiet spot in the middle of the of the city. more

We just happen to be traveling on the interstate when we saw the sign, "Rural Life Museum". We took the exit and went... We have told everyone we know about this museum. It not only is a museum but a replica of a small settlement, containing slave quarters and 2-3 original houses transported in from other areas... The museum is... more
