I loved this tour. Even though the house isn't grandiose the story behind the plantation is so interesting. I bought the book after the tour but wished I had read it before I went. Our guide, Elsmore, was excellent. He was so knowledgeable and funny. I hope they complete the restorations and I will definitely return. more

Laura Plantation is less than an hour's drive away from New Orleans so if you can get there, you should definitely include it in your agenda.
