Early in the 1900's, Ogunquit became a magnet for artists and art colonies. A lot of fun, talented people in American Art have wandered these shores! One result is a flourishing current artists' community. The other is the OMAA. While a small-ish facility, the architecture more-than-does-justice to the surprising sculpture and paintings within. A museum dedicated to American Art, it has the best backyard of any museum, Narrow Cove. Its five galleries can be viewed in about an hour but you will want to linger. The outdoor sculptures will make you smile. Treat yourself to more than a lobster roll and a sandy beach. more
