Just returned with my 7 year old after being told this was a "family resort". The first night expected a show, as with all other resorts, including kids instead got Karaoke. Although I was told Sunday was the only night they didn't have a show it seemed that they didn't have a show four of the eight nights we stayed.... more

We are a family of four...44, 42, 11 and 7, and we stayed from Aug 11th-15th. Overall, we found the resort to be very welcoming, clean, friendly and low-key, and we would certainly go back! First impressions were that this is a beautiful place, but there is a serious problem at Barcelo. We only drank bottled water. The problem was the food. Food & drinks were disappointing. They made them as cheap as possible. Buffet is bad! Our daughter got very ill from chicken she ate there. She lost 2 days. Throwing up and cramping.... more

Had a wonderful time at this resort. The rooms were incredible. Clean, spacious and comfy. The Wife would have enjoyed bathtub, but she loved the "rainmaker" shower head. I stayed at the hotel Barcello In July with my sister and a girlfriend. The rooms are clean and beautiful, the beds are comfy.They had a flat screen tv with plenty of movie channels. The sunsets are breathtaking. The staff is friendly and sweet, especially Marco, the waiter at the main buffet style restaurant. The food was good, not great.... more
