My husband, my 2-year-old, my mom, nephew and myself we stayed at RIU Place Las Americas for a week from 9/21-9/28. First of all the hotel is very beautiful, the lobby is magnificent and sevice was really good. We liked our room, it was somewhat spacious, the bathroom was great and the bed was comfortable- but most of all the... more

So let me preface this by letting you know that I am the pickiest person I know...its a good thing and a bad thing. Some of the things I notice are that the tiles are installed 180 degrees off in portions of the border of the rooms....yup....that picky. The hotel was nice and the lobby and rooms were very clean.... more

We just had our wedding at the Riu Palace Las Americas over Labor Day weekend and we had the best time! First of all, let me say that the wedding coordinator Pamela and the crews that help set up for the wedding were unbelieveable. We were there during when Hurrican Gustav was threatening to hit Cancun (which luckily it bypassed... more

I must admit I came to the RPLA without any expectations, also I was mad when we got there because of all the people trying to get you into some timeshare presentation....do me a favor, when you land in Cancun and you have your transportation already arranged, just head out directly outside and DO NOT let yourself be stopped by... more

My fiancé and I were married at the Riu Palace Lace Americas at the end of June 2008 and had a fantastic experience. We arrived at the Riu on Tuesday for a Friday evening wedding, with the rest of our guests (we were a small group, 11 total) arriving on different days that week. We booked with a travel agent... more

What an Hotel, service was excellent with very friendly staff who were always ready to provide whatever you needed. The food and restaurants offered both great choice and excellent menus. We had a beautifull room which were cleaned and checked at least twice a day. Just could not fault the place. more

My Girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel September 15-19th of this year and we were blown away by just the mere sight of the hotel and when you first walked in the hotel in the lobby. Hurricane Ike had just brushed by and had washed away a good portion of the beach where you walk to the hotel next... more

I read tons of reviews on this (and other) resorts before picking it. We spent a week at the RIU, as a party of 4 (two well traveled couples) Having stayed at many resorts and top hotels around the world, we were fairly confident that the RIU could meet our expectations on the facilities and staff, but we expected mediocre... more

This was my 14th time to Cancun since 1990, first time at the RPLA. We usually stay at the Gran Melia or the Omni, but we wanted to try something different. We stayed Sept 12th thru 16th. When we arrived at 12:30 PM, we were greeted with a warm, friendly "Welcome Home" by the front desk staff, given our welcoming... more
