Tucked into a protected private beach, Paraiso de la Bonita, a member of both Leading Small Hotels of the World and Virtuoso, is an intimate, elegant InterContinental Resort of only 90 suites that captures all the extraordinary beauty of the Yucatan. Our luxurious suites feature a living room, adjoining bedroom and full baths with deep marble tubs, separate showers and handcrafted sinks. Each accommodation has its own private terrace facing the ocean offering either magnificent views of the tropical gardens or sweeping views or the Caribbean Sea. The 22,000 square foot Spa sets a new standard in treatments for mind and body. The resort is the first spa in North America and only the second in Latin America to offer Thalassotherapy - a system using fresh heated seawater that induces an exchange of minerals and toxins between the blood and the water. Paraiso de la Bonita is the only resort on the Riviera Maya to offer its guest the most luxurious of amenities: a 50-foot catamaran anchored just off the resort dock. Located on the pristine Mayan Riviera, just 20 minutes from the Cancun International airport, Paraiso de la Bonita is a convenient Cancun escape that seems a world away. more » « less

We spend 6 days of our honeymoon in July in this small paradise and we absolutely loved this hotel. From the first moment we realized the luxury and the grate services this hotel has to offer. They picked us up from the airport with a Lincoln Navigator and the driver offered us cold water, towels and cds to choose the... more

My husband and I were looking for a quick 4 day getaway and were attracted to the proximity to Cancun airport- but not in the concrete jungle. Hotel staff was very very friendly and attentive. Spa treatments were also very good. Pools and pool furniture was really nice and comfortable. Food was quite good - expensive but good. We were... more

This was the most amazing experience my husband and I have ever had! I could never understand a negative review. The food and drinks were expensive, but well prepared and very elegant. The staff was incredible, the room beautiful, the food was INCREDIBLE the amenities fabulous and the absolute feeling we found paradise! You don't realize there is still destruction... more

We wanted our honeymoon to be really spectacular and asmy husband says, he didn't want to be in "Mariott Hell." We selected this hotel based on the number of rooms (90) as well as it proximity to the airport...as we were only there for 4 nights we didn't want a long commute to our hotel. The rooms are gorgeous with... more

The Paraiso is truely a hidden gem on the Mayan Riviera! My husband and I spent a week there for our 10th wedding anniversary and it was everything we had been looking for. The rooms are enormous, impeccably decorated and very clean. The staff is super attentive and the food at all 4 restaurants was delicious. The beach is beautiful... more

We spent four glorious nights here. There were many delicious choices for breakfast; service outstanding. All meals eaten at the resort were absolutely delicious. The rooms were spacious, extremely clean and contrary to other comments about the beds being hard; we did not find this a problem. Beds and linens were very, very comfortable. We've never had rooms cleaned to... more

We spent our one week honeymoon in the hotel in early April and it was one of the nicest experiences we have ever had. The rooms: Each room/suite is given a certain name and topic (ours was Durban) for its interior design. Our suite was directly at the beach with two lovely balconies. Especially the bathroom and the beautiful shower... more

Normally we stay in Cancun proper on our way to Havana, Cuba, but decided to try something on the boutique side. This resort is absolute heaven. It is not for people who want to party or get rowdy. There is no kareoke or disco! The rooms are all named after countries or capitals and are all suites with either first... more

My husband and I stayed there Feb 7 - 11 for a relaxing getaway. The resort was beautiful. The beach, pool, and rooms were perfect. We stayed at the beach everyday and had it all to ourselves. There were some reports of seaweed at the beach which made me skeptical. It turns out the beach was kept spotless, but about... more
