My stay at Hillsdale House was most enjoyable. I was in the Annapolis Royal area on business and required an unexpected overnight accommodation. The Hillsdale House Inn was in the Federal Government approved accommodations listing, and dropped in to see if there was vacancy. I was pleased to find Val very accommodating as was Paul who I met at breakfast... more

The physical setting in an attractive large garden property, the well-maintained Victorian-era inn, the roomy accommodation, the excellent individually cooked breakfasts, and the location in a beautiful town near significant Canadian historical sites combined to create one of the best away from home overnights that we have ever had. My husband and I just loved the Hillsdale B&B . Everyone was so kind and helpful and the breakfast was fabulous. If we needed to get directions, suggestions on places to see or whatever, they would help us with that also. We had to leave by six a.m.. for our return trip and when we went down stairs to leave... more

No other inn compared to Hillsdale on the rest of our driving tour of Nova Scotia. I would like to stay again but in a different... more

Our third floor room with sloped ceilings overlooked the large property and lovely garden. The inn is easy walking distance to everything in Annapolis Royal. Breakfast was superb and the experience was topped off by... more

We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the attention to detail of our hosts. The breakfasts were awsome with the homemade bread & muffins an added feature. The servers were so very accomodating which made a wonderful start to our visit in Annapolis Royal. Our room was very comfortable with so many extras. Superb! Superb! more

After a long drive from Halifax we were warmly welcomed to the Hillsdale. Everything is within easy walking distance and although Annapolis Royal is quiet, that's part of it's attraction. Tea/coffee are not provided in the rooms but Val explained about early morning tea/coffee being available from 7.00am in the kitchen. Breakfast was good including a choice of home-made jams... more

My stay at Hillsdale House Inn was a gold-star experience in every way...from the warm welcome, inviting decor and quiet grounds to the special touches in the room, genuinely friendly service and wonderful AND filling breakfast. The magnificent historic gardens are just a few steps away, as is Fort Anne and quaint shops. Annapolis Royal is a great destination. I... more
