The hotel is beautiful. Modern, plush, spacious, imposing and most importantly well located. The room was fairly traditional, nicely proportioned and had a small balcony offering great views of the Madrid skyline (note: we had a high floor). The service was, on the whole, impeccable. However, I consistently had problems with staff in the restaurant (and there was no language... more

We've recently returned from a weekend in Madrid and were fortunate enough to have stayed at the Intercontinental. The hotel itself is very clean and the room we stayed in was fantastic. On returning from a shopping trip on our first day we arrived back in our room to find an ice bucket with a chilled bottle of Brut Cava,... more

My husband and I stayed at the Intercontinental for 2 days in early April. The hotel was nice, but we had a room that overlooked the lower rooftop heating or a/c vents, so absolutely no view. We also had 2 twin beds pushed together, and I'm pretty sure that's not what I booked. The room and bathroom were very nice.... more

The Intercontinental Madrid is located on the Castellana, in short walking distance to Serrano luxury shopping area and within few minutes taxi ride to the centre of the city (Sol). It overlooks the busy street, but fortunatelly the room was completely soundproof. Upon request, seamless limousine airport transfers were provided. Staff are very kind and helpful throughout the hotel. There... more

I have stayed at this hotel three times in the last year whilst on business, I always in a standard room with king size bed. The hotel is of a reasonable standard and is definitely aimed towards the business traveller. Pros: • Clean rooms • Good room service • Great bar and restaurant • Water pressure in the shower Cons:... more

I stayed in a regular room with a king-sized bed. The room was not huge by U.S. standards but the furnishings were top-quality and comfortable. The marble bathroom was very large with seperate tub, great selection of toiletries and big 100% cotton towels. Coffee machine, iron with full ironing board and other amenities in the room. The bed was amazingly... more

We stayed at the this hotel in May 2006 and decided to return with our children in February 2007. This hotel is exactly what you expect from a 5 star hotel, the decor, sevice, food and rooms. We are Ambassador members of the Priority Club and we were checked in at the Club Lounge. The staff and service in the... more

Booked a Club-level room and upgraded to a Junior Suite because I was a Platinum Ambassador. Room was large and well furnished. Large foyer with closets, living room, separate bedroom, and large bath with double sinks, separate tub, and shower (entire bath space was marble). Service was first rate from the doorman on up. Lovely piano player in the lobby... more

This is a above average business hotel, but a bit disappointing. We had a Junior Suite, which where likely the smallest rooms we had in a long time. The bed was not the (reserved) king size, but a rather small queen size, the bedroom was not much bigger than the bed. The club was disappointing with a rather limited selection... more
