We stayed at the Monasterio for two nights before visiting Machu Picchu and again for one night on our return to Cusco. We enjoyed everything about the hotel. We stayed here one night in September after having hiked the Inca trail. The premises itself was absolutely amazing and the cloisters looked beautiful in the moonlight. The public areas are well maintained, with lovely manicured gardens. We were able to sit in a quiet courtyard on the comfortable sun loungers in the morning and it was a real haven.... more

We had a marvellous three-day stay in the Monasterio. Such glorious surroundings and art work, luxurious rooms and just a very short walk to the Plaza de Armas, shops and restaurants. Just perfect - well worth a splurge ! Rooms a little small - but what an atmosphere - the classical music and gregorian chanting in the cloisters really makes you relax - i found that i was slowing down my pace everytime i walked through ! Stunning hotel as soon as you walk in the front doors.
