This hotel is absolutely the best hotel in Aqaba for business travelers at the moment. Very friendly staff, excellent food and superb location with private beach. I recommand the Cote d'or restaurant and the Lebanese restaurant. A lot of construction going on next to the hotel as they are building 4 5* hotels just across the street. If you have... more

We stayed one night at the Intercontinental after a stay in Petra, and then went back to Amman. It is a beautiful hotel. Helpful and friendly staff, very open to talking with patrons. I would definitely want to stay here again if I return. Great location on the beach. The pool is great, extending all along the back side in... more

I and my wife stayed in this hotel for 3 nights celebrating our wedding anniversary in August 2008. We checked in early on the day of arrival, 10:00 a.m and they were O.K. with that, but the gentleman on reception looked tired and was not smiling at all. After talking to the reception manager, he apologized on behalf of his... more

We stayed at the Aqaba Intercontinental for a one night stop on a trip that took us from Amman, to Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Petra and back to Amman. The tour was arranged as a package, hotels and meals with driver included, through Jordan Tours in Petra so I’m not sure about the exact price paid for each hotel. However, we... more

The only reason to come to Aqaba is a) for the beach and hotel pool and/or b) as a transit stop en route to the Wadi Rum or Petra. The InterContinental is essentially what you would find on Waikiki beach on Oahu; it is an oversized hotel with large family-friendly pools and a private stretch of beach and essentially nothing... more

Im repeating the first couple of general paragraphs from my other Jordan hotel reviews for anyone who didnt read them. My boyfriend & I (both 35yrs old) stayed here for 7 nights this July. We've both travelled extensively and I did a lot of research when choosing our hotels for this trip (see also my review for the Movenpick Dead... more

We spent only one night in the Intercontinental in Aqaba, but were very impressed with the room! This is a new hotel with every facility you could wish for: fabulous room, beautifully decorated and very modern, large balcony, superb bathroom, tea/coffee, iron and ironing board in wardrobe, welcome message - personalised- when you swithched on the tv, even a speaker... more

We spent three days in Aqaba in May '08 and booked through Intercontinental directly. All arrangements went smoothly. The courtesy and attention to detail among the staff was more than one could expect. The only disappointment is that breakfast is not included in the price (unusual for MidEast hotels). The hotel is on a private beach. But its pool --... more

As tourism professionals, we both are very, very critical. Well, the Intercontinental Aqaba spoiled us. Extraordinarily nice and professional staff: the perfect mixture of Arab hospitaltity and Asian service. Difficult to find better food in town, as Jordan's best Lebanese restaurant is located on pool level. Clinically clean beach, just as the rooms and the public spaces. Difficult to leave... more
