We have lived in South Florida for over 20 years and always like to try new places. For the longest time we assumed that Fisher Island was a private island and only accessible for their residents and club members. However we received an email blast which stated that Fisher Island had a resort and a special summer saver escape rate.... more

We decided to stay on Fisher Island this trip because we wanted to be close to the action but with a bit of serenity and peace. We are American Express Platinum Card holders and asked our travel agent that we needed a relaxing trip nearby. She suggested Fisher Island Hotel & Resort in Miami and we booked this 3 day weekend getaway. Our experience was unbelievable...a tropical luxury island next to miami beach and miami...with all the amenities...I loved the Spa and my husband played golf...Porto... more

This is nothing like the strip on Collins Ave. This is nothing like the skyscraper neighborhood of the Mandarin or Four Seasons. This resort is good for decompression with Miami and SoBe easily avoided or accessed. The hotel is somewhat dated and scheduled for redecoration in the spring of 2008; it is nonetheless very comfortable. The restaurants on the island... more

It's hard to imagine a more spectacular setting than Fisher Island. The perfectly manicured lawns, exotic birds walking about, white sand beach and stunning harbor. We enjoyed our stay on Fisher Island immensely! The service was excellent, the villa was elegantly decorated, and the uncrowded beaches were peaceful and relaxing. It was worth every penny to stay on this exclusive island! more

Grounds are beautiful and the service was excellent until the end when we had money stolen from our room. We did not receive so much as an apology or call back with the unfortunate experience. I guess they really didn't care. more
