My girlfriend and I stayed at Grotto Bay for one night, we had been on the island to stay at the Pompano, but were bumped off of our flight and put up at Grotto Bay by the airline. We were both really excited about this because it was one of the places that I had looked to stay initially and... more

We spent our 25th anniversary at the Grotto Bay Beach Resort and had an amazing time. I was a little skeptical about the resort after having read some of the reviews. I'm guessing that it's the folks who find something not to their liking that write more of the reviews than those of us who had a pleasant experience. Ours... more

My wife and I wanted to go to Bermuda to scuba dive. We specifically chose Grotto Bay because it has an on-site dive shop. When we got there we went straight to the dive shop to reserve some dive time. The girl we spoke to told us they were booked up for the entire time we would be there. She... more

Grotto Bay is built on a bluff / cliff, so in order to get to the pool and / or beach, you have to climb up/down MANY flights of stairs. Not a good hotel for the elderly (WAY too many steps) or the very young (almost impossible to push a stroller up the hill next to the steps). I guess... more

We've just spent four nights in Grotto Bay despite the mixed reviews. We chose the hotel because 1) it was a short trip from Boston and 2) we wanted to dive and Triangle Divers is located on the property. If you don't have transportation and want to be in a city this would not be a good choice. Many people... more

The place was just horrible in person compared to stories and photos. Our beach front (more expansive) room faced the beach, but has a sports rental shop in the way of our view. The ice machine was broken, there was a cockroach in our hallway, the room looked like it was from the 80s, there was no room service menu,... more

The property is just a five minute ride from the airport. Instead of waiting 40 minutes for your tranfser bus to fill up, just catch a taxi and pay the 10 bucks.... you'll be checked in and on the beach ahead of the crowd. Our room (#468) was just okay and needed an update. A/C worked great and was on... more

Beach and pool are very pleasant; Rooms are just okay and ours was a renonovated one - nothing remarkable. Found many locals to be downright rude and not the least bit welcoming, which could have been the result of three cruise ships in port during our stay - that's a lot of people on a small island. Because you can't... more

Before submitting my review, I read some of the other recent ones here to see if my experiences and opinions were unique. They're not. I stayed as part of a party of 7 and find it hard to write an objective review as the attitude of some of the staff varied, as others found, from outstandingly courteous, polite, and professional,... more

The property wants to be a resort, but lacks the amenities. There are very few food options, and you are not able to get food during off meal hours. There is very little night life, one night we were there, the hotel had a two person band, but the other nights there was zero to do. There are a few... more
