We decided to visit the so amazing and romantic Neuschwanstein Castle. we looked for a hotel in the area... and found a well recommended hotel advertised as at 2 km distance the "Maximilian"... Eventually it was at 30km FROM THE CASTLE (what a lyers)... and the restaurant has good reviews. but i don’t think for the service. ..WE WAITED 1.5... more
Very nice hotel with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Our room was small but comfortable and the restaurant and breakfast food were excellent. This hotel is a little bit out of the way of the town center and pleasantly quiet. Evening local entertainment was provided - most enjoyable. Would like to spend more time in this lovely area and would... more
This hotel is particularly suitable for family holidays. Children are welcomed like little princes/princesses(funny good menus for all, playroom with toys, room children close to parents with children funtime). The hotel is clean and cosy and you feel like home. Staff is always very avalaible and kind. We also received free tourist advice and tips during our stay and we... more
I found this hotel from Rick Steves' 2008 Germany and Austria guidebook. BTW, his book is a must if you go to Europe! He recommended the Hotel Max in Reutte and we loved our host Gabi and her family! She greeted us so warmly as if we knew her many years. She has a personal touch for visitors, so you... more
We were only in Reutte one night on our way to visit Neuschwanstein. The Hotel Maximillion was incredible. Gabi, one of the hotel owners, was absolutely charming. This was a wonderful romantic place and I would love to visit here again. The breakfast was top notch. We didn't get a chance to eat at the hotel for dinner but we... more
We stayed at the hotel whilst attending a wedding in the nearby ehrenberg castle. I must say that the standard of service in this hotel was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, slightly late for the wedding, Gaby offered to drive us up there. the level of personal service never lessened. On a rare wet day we went for a... more
We stayed at the Hotel Maximilian in early June '08 in a "family room" - 1 large bedroom (yummy white bedding) and a smaller bedroom with bunkbeds. We had a small balcony with a view of the Erhenburg Castle (it's lite up at night)! My teenage son could lay in bed at night and see the old castle. Such a... more
The Maximilian is a wonderful hotel set in the Austrian countryside outside of Reutte, Austria. The hostess, Gaby, greets you when you check in and provides you with great information on where to seeing the sights of the area (notably King Ludwig's castles in Fuessen, Germany). They have a great restaurant in which we were entertained by the local brass... more
Although it was for just one night, we had a wonderfull stay at Hotel Maximilian. The warm welcome from Gaby, the original Austrian beer, the humour and service of the staff, the really wonderfull food, the copieus breakfast and surprising modern architecture in the restaurant; it was a perfect beginning of our holiday. Thanks again to the family Koch. The... more
