Easy to find on the boundary of the Gaslamp District of San Diego but nevertheless within very easy walking distance of the restaurants and bars in the Gaslamp area. Comfortable room but a bit full of furniture. Had a sink and basic kitchen facilities (this place is clearly a timeshare place). Bathroom clean and functional. Good view from the room... more

The city is only a short drive from the airport to the city so we soon arrived at the Gas Lamp Plaza on E Street and we were greeted by a lovely receptionist called Merry, she was most helpful and gave us lots of information about the city. All the recption staff were pleasant and helpful The rooms are not... more

A perfect location (walk to Balboa Park, Petco Park, and the waterfront), great room, and loads of charm. We enjoy small, older hotels like this since they have so much character compared to the many large national chains in the area. I would suggest going up on the roof for the views, but not the breakfast (limited in selection and... more

We stayed at Gaslamp Plaza Suites for a week, through a timeshare exchange. The location is perfect. Right in the middle of Gaslamp district, very close to buses, trolleys, restaurants, bars, Horton Plaza, and a short walk from the ocean. They offered a free continental breakfast on their rooftop, which was a pleasant surprise for a timeshare. It was simple... more

Stayed here for 2 nights in August 2008. Room/suite on 9th floor was big and with a small kitchenette (nice with the fridge). The room was facing the habour and the downtown streets which gave a bit of noise friday and saturday night. But this was not a problem for us. Otherwise just a wonderful view. Bathroom with tub was... more

We ( myself, my husand and 2 kids) stayed here and found the hotel great. The location is right in the heart of downtown with plenty of restaurants and shops within a minutes walk. The room was very large and airconditioned, beds were very comfortable and everything spotlessly clean. Breakfast is on the rooftop dining area which gives great views... more

Stayed here a week through an RCI exchange and this place rocks! We're older retired couple in our 60's and it was a bit noisy some nights but soon got used to it. The suite was grand with a large sitting room, ample bedroom with queen bed, great views of the city (we were on the eighth floor) and complementary... more

I was in town for a meeting and stayed at Gaslamp Plaza Suites for 5 nights. The hotel is neat--I actually liked the frosted glass hallways. My room was a good size and the bathroom was art-deco-ey. The hotel is in a great spot for enjoying the Gas Lamp district and close to the bus stop to get out to... more

We had two rooms booked for my mom, my kids and myself over spring break. The suites were good size and clean, although a little on the sad side. Some renovation would make this hotel brilliant! My mom's room was on the quiet side of the building, but window facing another building and constant noise from a fan. Our two... more

I have just returned from a week at the Gaslamp Plaza and felt I needed to share this information with others who may be considering this location. It is in a great location, however if you are not a sound sleeper, it is very loud at night. Because of the downtown location, there are people wandering throughout the hotel and... more
