The Hotel is set in an excellent location near to a tube station. You can get anywhere you want to in NY via this for $7.50 a day. The Hotel has large, comfortable rooms & is very good value for money. There is a Fairway supermarket right opposite, open 6am to 1am, which is really good value. Right next door... more
Staff at reception not terribly friendly or helpful but that and the fact that the 7th floor was still under renovation therefore no laundry facilities were the only negatives on our stay at the Beacon. Location was fantastic everything you need within short walking distance. Market, liquor store, clothing stores, drug stores, nail salons and hairdressers everything. Close to 72nd... more
The Beacon Hotel was a perfect choice for a couple with a 2 year old. Separate rooms and self contained kitchen made our stay far better than a standard hotel offering. Our 2 year old had room to move and we could watch a movie in another room without waking him sleeping in the other - impossible in hotel rooms.... more
The Beacon Hotel is just a short walk from the 72nd and Broadway subway stop (convenient). Check-in was friendly and prompt. The elevator was a bit clunky, but overall OK. The room (908) was located directly across from the elevator. The door was not particularly sound-proof, so we heard people coming and going all night. Fortunately, their were no big... more
Having been to new york before and staying in various hotel we were aware of the good and bad. We were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and polite as you would expect of most Americans in the customer service industry and the diner next door was equally so. The hotel is fairly well located... more
We just got back yesterday after a four day stay here and really could not be happier. The hotel is a quiet (if New York is ever quiet) retreat from the bustle of the tourist areas. This hotel is recently updated in quiet shades of green and neutral colors. It has nice flat screen TVs and pretty dang comfy beds!... more
Hotel Beacon @ 76th and Broadway, Upper West Side. Lovely, very nice lobby, friendly and helpful staff, hotel is being renovated floor by floor. Our room and floor was newly done, spacious (by NYC standards), two easy chairs, plus a small desk type table with two chairs for eating together, large flat screen TV, very nice bedding, nicely furnished overall.... more
After scouring the internet and asking several friends who had recently been to NY, we finally settled on the Beacon Hotel. We were not dissapointed. We had a 2 bedroomed suite, which suited our needs perfectly (my daughter and I shared with my sister). The hotel is currently undergoing renovations (which hardly impacted our stay at all). The rooms are... more
My daughter and I have just returned from a four night stay in hotel Beacon. I booked the hotel on account for the reviews on this site and hoped for a refurbished room. We got a room on the 9th floor and this floor was finished. Alas the room was on the backside so the view was disappointing. But whatever,... more
