You must be a lovely mum as you've made it clear you don't like crowded shopping places!

Markets are pretty much over the weekends.

Portobello Market on a Saturday when the market's on would have been the place to go. If you google Kate Moss and portobello and vintage you'll find boutiques where she shops but it's a bit empty up there without the market. I know Victoria Beckham was seen in the Oxfam by Notting Hill tube too.

I'll have a think about other places she might like.

OK I've *never* actually been to this place but it's been mentioned in lots of magazines recently:

http://www.beyondretro.com/

They now have a store in Soho which is just at the back of Oxford Street (east of Regent St).

Otherwise the other well-known spots are Portobello Market and Spitafields (I think).

I think the issue with vintage is that often it's really overpriced, even when the item is in poor conditions. And Alexa Chung was recently quoted saying that all good vintage has now been snapped up and that's why she now just goes to charity shops. I'm inclined to agree, which is why I tend to either buy vintage-style replica clothes from the States, or try my luck (and mostly fail) on Ebay.

Good luck!

If you're in Oxford Street your daughter might also like to check out the basement floor of the huge TopShop at Oxford Circus, they have a large 'vintage' section there (also carry a large Kate Moss at TopShop range)

Have a look at Della Finch Designer Sales outlet near Victoria Station (75 Wilton Road).

Or www.madfashionbitch.com

Or Bang Bang women's clothing exchange, 21 Goodge Street.
