I stayed at Luna for two days in June with my family. The triple room we stayed in was very spacious for a family of three including a teenager. The room was clean, but the curtain had a smoking smell despite being a non-smoking room. Also, we found it inconvenient that there were closets but no chest for unpacking clothes. It had free wireless internet connectivity.
The hotel is in a great location close to sites, but it is in a very crowded section of the town. We usually select a hotel in the center of the town, but in Venice, it is so easy to take water buses to everywhere, so we may stay in a less crowded place next time if we go back.
The hotel staff were all professional but some were much more friendly than others, and the quality seemed to vary.
As for dining, I had read reviews of others and had a dinner at hotel's Canova restaurant, but I feel it is overrated. The quality was decent, but when appetizers cost more than 30 euros, I expect higher quality. In contrast, the neighborhood restaurant Osteria San Marco that the concierge recommended was the best among seven or eight we tried in three cities - Siena, Florence, and Venice - during our trip. Breakfast at the hotel was Ok.
The price at this hotel was a bargain compared with other 5-star hotels, and given its location and a decent room (at least in the case of our triple room), this hotel is worth a visit for someone who prefers a luxury hotel but has a limited budget. However, if we go back, I probably want to try some other 5-star hotel for comparison, and as mentioned before, we may look for a hotel in a less crowded place or even a different island.
