We just stayed in Venice for two nights, August 22-24, 2007. We were taking our teenage son on his first trip to Europe. First we went to Paris, then Venice and on to Rome.
Palazzo Schiavoni was terrific...the best part of our stay in Venice!
Room was huge and well-appointed and clean, clean, clean! A/C was so welcoming after a day of pedestrian, bumper-to-bumper traffic in Venice.
The directions to the hotel from their website were easy to follow...just dealing with luggage..even the small amount we traveled with..wasn't easy on the bridges and with the crowds.
The area around the hotel is nice and quiet and still an easy walk to St. Marks and the Grand Canal....
In the end we really wished we had skipped Venice...both my husband and I had been there twice before and it has changed so much....lots and lots of tee shirt stands and tons of graffitti. Our tour guide..strugged off a question about the tagging and seemed to defend it as kids just having nothing to do?
