We stayed here in Sept 2007 and it was a very good experience.

We needed to stay close to Pizzale Roma as we had a very early flight out in the morning and needed to catch the 5am bus to the airport, but actually we found the location to be preferable to the crowds surrounding the San Marco area. It was still only around a 1/2 hour walk to San Marco, but we also enjoyed the area around the hotel and found some lovely restaurants and shops nearby.

The hotel itself was very pleasant. It isnt super fancy but it has everything you need, as well as a few nice touches like English books to borrow. And the hotel is small enough to still feel quiet and cosy.

The rooms were a good size and everything inside was comfortable.

We also found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful. Also because we were catching an early flight and would miss breakfast, they stocked our fridge with some water, food, and other breakfast things, which was nice.

I thought it was good value for Venice in Sept (135 euro) and would stay here again.

My partner booked this trip to celebrate his birthday and he could not have made a better choice for accommodation. It was wonderful. When we got off the shuttle bus, near, I think it was called, Piazza/Plaza Roma, it is just a few blocks away. Located in a quiet street, still in the centre, restaurants within reach, and local transport around the corner, as in boats!! We had the room 'at the attic' and it was spacious enough for the both of us, nice, clean bathroom, so we had a good night sleep. Breakfast is the Italian way, unfortunately that means only one croissant, coffee or tea, some marmelade, yoghurt but no real Italian products such as cheese or salami.... But okay, it was sufficient! We certainly would recommend this place, and would go here again! You'll love it, just as you will enjoy Venice: breath-taking!

Recommnded place to stay when visiting Venice. It off to the side of the islands but for two nights it was a great location. Close to the last stop on the vaparetto but they are building a brand new "all glass" bridge that will make it even more convenient for walking to and from in the future. Nick was very nice and welcomed me in and provided a map, carried my bags, and explained the area to me. They only have 6 rooms but it is well kept and one can eat off the floors it was so clean. I stayed in 4 different hotels during my 10 day tour of Italy and this was one of my two favorite hotels. The breakfast was nothing over the top compared to the large chains but it was sufficient for the small B and B. Very clean and and decent size room for my single price. I would stay here again if I wanted to be in the area otherwise I would try to find something a little closer to the tourism areas. It is actually walking distance from the college areas which did liven up a bit at night so that is fun and close by if your looking for restaurnats and night life its not to far. I choose this location because of the proximity to the vaperetto stops back to the train for early departure in the morning, so that was key and worth it....... Nice place, nice people, nice location. I had no issues and they were very friendly. I felt welcomed. I felt safe.

I visited Venice and Marinella in June 2007 with my wife for a weekend.
The first comment should be: Excellent hotel location!
It is in a very quiet and peaceful area, but very convinient for any kind of transportation: very close to Piazzale Roma (just 3' walking) where you can find the bus terminal (very important if you reach Venice by plane and bus in the night, like we did) and a vaporetto stop for all lines. Easy walking distance from the train station as well.
If you prefer walking, it is a reasonable distance to all sightseeing places (about 2km sto Piazza San Marco - a lovely walk) and close to night entertainment sights (5' walking to Campo Santa Mergherita, in the university area, where you can have a drink even late in the evening).
The room was very nice, clean and spacious, with a beautiful decoration and a wood ceiling (actually, we had booked a superior room, which turned to be a spacious 2room+bathroom apartment with a beautiful private garden)!
The staff was really friendly.
Breakfast was not among the hotel's strong points, just moderate.
But, after all, we would definitely go back to Marinella and would definitely suggest it to any Venice visitor.
