“Slightly Overpriced”

Ca San Giorgio

May 29, 2008

I chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the train station and it was a good choice for that. It was ok to leave our luggage downstairs before the room was ready, and on our departure. The room was lovely. It was in the eaves with beamed ceiling but very bright and all still quite new. A few gripes - no English channels on the tv; only one small pillow provided, so have to request more; no waste bin in the bedroom; only mirror is in the bathroom so difficult to get ready while your room mate is showering. However, I had requested a hirdryer and that was in the room, waiting for us. Breakfast, I thought, was adequate. I keep telling myself that this is in fact a B&B and not a hotel but then why the high price? We were only staying one night, so probably I felt that the short time that we spent in the room did not warrant the €180 price and we didn't get the chance to take advantage of other services such as tour arrangements etc.

“Delightful Experience”

Ca San Giorgio

May 8, 2008

We had a most enjoyable two nite stay at Ca San Giorgio. It is located within easy walking distance of the train station and is in a non-touristy area. From there ,all major attractions and good shopping can be easily reached. The rooms are quite charming and the staff was very anxious to make our Venice experience as memorable as possible. We contacted this establishment in advance for restaurant recommendations and was very impressed with the detail that Chiari provided for us to review . She then made advance reservations for us and we were quite pleased with her choices. Our time in Venice was most memorable and I must attribute alot of this to our stay at San Giorgio. We had to leave early the last day to make a train. Accordingly, breakfast was delivered in advance to our room. I recommend San Giorgio without any reservations.

This was such a magical and charming little hotel right next to a traghetto stop an dvery near a vaparetto stop. It was very convenient to the train station and most everything is very close by. Sylvia and Chiara were extremely helpful and welcoming...so much so that I decided to cut my stay short in Florence and came back to Venice and the Ca San Giorgio for an extra 3 nights! the accomodations were wonderful and so affordable. i will definitely come back - and am looking forward to my return. Thank you so much Sylvia and Chiara for a wonderful stay in Venice!

“Loved it!”

This was a lovely place to stay, easily accessible on foot to the train station/Piazzale Roma which in Venice with all the maze of streets is a big plus! The hotel itself is very comfortable, rooms lovely and the breakfast ample, so you feel well rested and fed (not that that's ever a problem in Italy!) before you head out to explore this magical place. Under family ownership, our every question was willingly answered and anything we needed was taken care of, from making reservations for tours, concerts etc. to checking on the train schedule. Although you aren't in the immediate vicinity of the Piazza San Marco, we walked all over Venice without any difficulty and so found the location a pleasure, away from the main tourist areas but still with plenty of restaurants, shops, a vaporetto stop all nearby. Highly recommend this lovely, personal and well-maintained B&B.

“Lovely place”

Ca San Giorgio

Apr 13, 2008

Just returned from a lovely visit here with my 2 daughters. Its a beautiful place in a quiet part of Venice away from all the noise and touristy areas. we stayed in the top room, the "Altana" which has its own rooftop terrace. I highly recommend it.
