Our 6-person, 3-generation family enjoyed Ca' San Giorgio immensely. Location is quiet but central, rooms well appointed, some with balconies offering a glimpse of the Grand Canal. No less important: good beds, and air conditioning in working order. Breakfast was decent though not grand, and Chiara and her colleagues were smiling and helpful. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Thought it is not located in the heart of the touristy section (a huge plus in our book) this is a great place to stay in Venice.

The hotel is small (I think it has only 8 rooms). The rooms are really beautiful. The buillding is old - from the 1300s - how cool is that - but very recently updated (and, as I said, beautiful). A nice Italian breakfast was included in the (very reasonable) price of the room..

Silvia and Chiara really care about their guests. Silvia's parents own the hotel and she treats it as her own. Both Silvia and Chiara were really helpful with finding things to do and places to eat. There was one mildy cranky women who worked for them but she couldn't spoil the experience; it was too nice.

The hotel is located a few steps from a dock on the Grand Canal so you can take a water taxi or a gondala to the hotel, we did both - really cool!

If you like really nice accomodations, friendly people, and avoiding the crowds, this is the place for you in Venice.

We spent 2 nights at Ca' San Giorgio and wished we were able to stay longer. There are so many nice things we could say, but for the sake of brevity I'll stick to the basics:
Comfort: It is an adorable place that is tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. The breakfast was very nice and similar to the other breakfasts that we had while in Italy; juice, cereal, yogurt, meat and cheese and bread. It was the only place however, that served delicious, warm, fruit filled croissants. The beds were very comfortable and the hair dryers they supplied worked better than any others we had on the trip.
The people: What makes a place extra special are the people working there. The staff was friendly and welcoming (and we were traveling with teens). They were very helpful about giving tips on places to visit (outside of the realm of any tourbook) and where to go to eat.
Location: It was so easy to get to from the train station. One stop on the vaporetto and a very short walk. The area is quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of more touristy locations. It was between a 5-10 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge. There is a traghetto stop right outside the door to cross the main canal and once you crossed there was vaporetto stop to zip you wherever you needed to go. A grocery store and restaurants were just a few streets over.
We really enjoyed our stay at Ca' San Giorgio and hope to return someday.
