We just finished an amazing 3 night stay at the Residence Corte Grimani. We loved this hotel for so many reasons. First, the owners are exceptionally pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Second, our two room apartment was large, very clean and well equiped. We paid extra to use the small kitchenette. Since we were traveling with two small children, this was very helpful. There was a small refrigerator, plates, cups and microwave. The bathroom was large, clean and equiped with a washer/dryer. Finally, Venice is very expensive. We paid 160 euros for me, my husband and our two children to eat a basic buffet breakfast at a near by restaurant. Yet, our three night stay here was only a total of 900 euros. This hotel is a bargain by Venice standards. This place has it all. Great location, great apartments with space for traveling families, great owners and great price. We will definitely return.

Spent three nights at the Corte Grimani and very impressed by the location, friendly service and excellent set-up. The room was like a mini apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a small kitchenette. Definitely worth splashing out for rooms with a view over the canal. The space is large, very stylishly furnished, spotless and air conditioned. Don't forget to close the shutters at night - keeps out the early morning sunshine. Exactly what we wanted - no over-priced restaurant or gift shop, just a small and comfortable place with very friendly and helpful staff. Cannot recommend this more highly - and the location is fabulous. Literally 5 mins walk to St Mark's and very close to the Rialto. Take the map to find the exact location - or if you forget, as we did, just ask for directions.

Our family of 5 (my parents, 2 brothers and I) just returned from our Europe vacation where we spent 5days in Venice and our stay at the Residence Corte Grimani definitely contributed to making our stay in Venice a very memorable one. We're so glad we found this gem of a hotel thanks to tripadvisor!!!

PROS:

Location. Location. Location. Its very near Piazza San Marco but just around a small street corner so you're still away from the noise and the hustle and bustle. {TIP If you have a lot of luggage its easier to have a water taxi bring you directly here from the airport, its very convenient since they have a water dock right at their doorstep.}

The room's lovely picturesque window with beautiful flowers on the ledge is overlooking the canal where you can watch the gondolas pass by and also has a great view of the Goldina Bridge that leads to the Piazza.

They serve a generous and hearty breakfast right in the room which is very very convenient.

Friendly, warm, helpful and welcoming staff especially Donatella.

Travel and guide books on loan in the lobby.

Free wired internet access in the room and internet station in the lobby.

Well maintained/ Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Good water pressure. Bedroom slippers provided. Ample towels.

Very comfortable bed in the master's suite

Great airconditioning.

Large rooms - comfortably spacious for 5 adults and 10 pieces of luggage. Sufficient closet & drawer space.

Made use of the kitchen since there are delis and bakeries nearby so this was a nice addition.

CONS: (a very minor one) but the sofa bed in the second room and sofa bed in the master's suite was not that comfortable and could be improved although it was not that bad

My husband & I have just returned from an overseas trip that included 3 days in Venice at the Corte Grimani.
We had an apartment which had loads of space.... comfortable bed.....super clean.....large telly & fantastic views overlooking a canal with Gondolas passing by , it was heaven.
We had breakfast there the first morning which was basic but nice.
We caught a waterbus from the main station to the hotel & got off at the Rialto stop. We did get a little lost walking to the hotel the 1st time but after that no problems, it's really easy to get around Venice.
Make sure you do the walking / canal boat tour it's a great way to see the city if you only have a few days.
The hotel staff all spoke excellent english & were very friendly & helpful.
We chose this hotel because of the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor & were certainly glad we did this place is just beautiful.
We can't wait to come back to Venice & will definately stay at Corte Grimani again.
