I stayed here for six nights with my one year old and my mother. It was absolutely fantastic - central but quiet and you could watch the gondolas right outside the window floating down the canal. The hotel supplied a high chair and cot and it was very easy to cater due to the excellent kitchen facilities within the apartment. I slept in the lounge diner, my baby slept in a walk in wardrobe area and I let grandma have the main bedroom. There were two bathrooms. It was all spotless, loads of space and very tasteful with lovely wooden beamed ceilings. It is certainly a bargain considering the standard and location. You felt totally part of the action even whilst eating your breakfast, as you watched the gondolas float by. St Marks Square is less than five mins walk and the rialto about 7 mins. One recommendation if you are travelling with a baby - take a backpack type thing as carrying prams over all the bridges which have stairs cut into them and which are everywhere is not great for the back! The water taxi took us too and from the airport and went right to the front door - don't let them tell you the water is too high - they said that to us but then when they realised we had a baby they magically managed to get us right to the hotel by canal!

We followed the other rave reviews and booked 4 nights at Corte Grimani. Yes, it is absolutely wonderful. Huge spacious rooms and immaculately presented. Not glitzy. Very central location. Discretely positioned, we found it without difficulty by following their map. Adequate English spoken by reception staff. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Corte Grimani for 4 nights at the end of a 17 day trip to Northern Italy. The stay there was just perfect in every way. It is a small and refined hotel with a private water taxi stop at the front door and 1 block from St. Mark's Square. The front desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. We booked a corner suite with two bathrooms and a small kitchen/dining area overlooking the canal. We were really happy with it. The rooms were large and well appointed with classic contemporary furniture. I agree completely with all the other reviewers who liked this hotel. Most amazing was the room rate which we found to be very reasonable in Venice. Because the hotel is so close to St. Mark's Square, you can buy a day pass on the vaporetto (city public water taxi) and be anywhere in the Venice area for sightseeing locations in minutes. In addition, we felt like we had our own apartment in Venice and it felt great to come home to it every night we were in this beautiful city.

We found the site through Fodors and/or Trip Advisor. Great Location. Quiet. Clean. Very good staff. The beds were firm (hip, hip, hooray). The a/c worked. We rented a place with a kitchen.

Under 5 minute walk to San Marco Square. The staff was always great about making resturant recommendations.

We really have nothing bad to say. Venice can be tough to navigate when you are trying to find your hotel vs. the train station or however. We took a private water taxi to the hotel. More expensive, but it worked well for us.

I would glady return and gladly stay at the same hotel.

Oh, I found a negative - the lift was small. We took the stairs. It seems that all lifts (elevators) in Italy are small, not just here.
