This is the best way to see Florence, in my opinion. Lodged on the tree-lined Viale Michelangielo, it is a welcome rest from the hub-bub and crowds of the city, but it's only a 20-minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio, or 20 minutes in the other direction to the church of San Miniato, with a stellar view of the entire city! The rooms are huge, especially by European standards, and include a kitchenette inside a large armoire. Angela and Cherubino are friendly, and will help you with your Italian if you like. We have already decided to stay here on our next trip to Florence.

We loved this hotel and it's location. We stayed here during the summer making this location a great escape from the crowds. We enjoyed the 15 minute walk along the river into town. If you don't feel like walking, there is a bus stop 5 minutes away.

The rooms were very spacious and the staff was very nice. I asked the hotel to make reservations to see David for us at the very last minute via email and I received a very prompt response back with everything taken care of. Thank you!

We will be staying here again!

The reception was warm and caring. Rooms especially comfortable, clean and beautiful. Location is quiet with parking and greenery, though a little out of the city but the 15-20 minute walk enjoyable and an experience in itself. The breakfast fare could be improved. Would definitely stay here again.

“Wonderful Choice”

This hotel has been accurately described in many, many good reviews, as a lovely place outside of the city center. Here are the salient features:

-Air conditioner worked WELL (not a given in Italy)

-Warm, very hospitable staff. Can't say enough good things about our hosts.

-large, beautiful rooms, we felt we were in a country villa. Perfect place for a honeymoon.

-It is a pretty good walk from the center of town--- about 20-40 minutes---after walking the city from 0900 until 2100, walking back to the room was slightly perturbing----albeit a lovely stroll along the Arno. (We should have made use of the nearby bus stop)

The bottom line:
We absolutely loved our stay (sadly, it was only one night) and can't wait to return!

    • Disliked — It's a good walk to city center, but worth it

“Lovely hosts, nice place to stay”

We arrived (4 of us, 2 couples) very hot and sticky on motor bikes on a very hot and humid afternoon. The hosts made us very welcome and soon had us checked in and cooling in our airconditioned room. The room was adeqate, very clean and well equipped, apart from the fact there was no shower on the wall in the bathroom, only a handheld one on the taps in the bath. It was definitely more than a 10 minute walk into town - more like 20 to 30 minutes, especially in the heat, so we did sometimes use taxis, especially after a long hot day sight seeing. There's only one restaurant in the vacinity, so you have to go into Florence at night to eat which is very expensive and not particularly good. We went to the local cafe for breakfast, this was quite resonable for Florence, but they do not speak much english so be prepared to use your italian phrasebook! All in all, a pleasant stay, but I might choose a hotel with more facilities nearer the centre rather than a 'residence'. The big plus for us was the secure parking especially with the bikes being Harley Davidsons.
