“Very Good...but”

Booked the hotel on easy book to 175.00 CAD per night. A good price for this hotel. It's extremely clean, the staff are friendly, the rooms are very very nice, and the beds are super comfy. But...everything you have read on here before about the showers backing up is 100% true. Ours backed up and we had water all over the bathroom floor that made it's out the front doorway and into the hall. We let the front desk know and they sent up the mais who just gave us some extra towels???? Whatever. Anyway we aren't the kind of people who make a big stink about things, so we forgot about it. We only stayed one night anyway. Had we stayed another night, we would have requested another room. Aside from the shower, everything else was top notch. Would stay again, but would make sure the shower worked first.

“Great Location”

Park Hotel Amsterdam

4 of 5 stars
Exeter,England

We really enjoyed this hotel as it gave us a good laugh!

I have to agree with most of the recent reviews , it's location is it's biggest selling point. You could easily walk to anywhere within the central area.

Beware if you are under 5 foot tall you will have problems reaching the check in desk , wardrobe and breakfast items !

The new restaurant MOMO is suffering from style overload , watch out for low swinging lights over tables! Breakfast was excellent if not a bit pricey . The evening menu was totally weird and overpriced - still there are a huge number of excellent eateries within 5 minutes walk so we didn't use it !.

The room was a little small for a superior room and beware the shower does flood the room ! Again style over practicality is the word here. The bed was rather soft with it's three ( yes three) mattresses! The coffee / tea making facility was a bonus. Nice toiletries and towels ( which you need for mopping up the floor).

The refurbishment is still ongoing which led to an interesting route to our room on the 4th Floor- but we soon got used to it !

Beware if you have kiddies our windows opened to a shear 4 floor drop which was a bit scary !

Overall a good hotel , in a great location . We would stay here again - just for the laughs!

“Grat Location but not worth the money”

Although we arrived early morning our room was not available until 3pm (check in advertised 2pm) we were on the 5th floor SO we had to get in one lift to the 2nd floor exit walk down a corridor and a flight of steps to a very old service lift up to the 4th floor up two flights of steps to the room, try doing that after having a drink!!!!
Like the other review our "toilet n shower" were next to the bed and leaked on the floor everytime.
On the plus side it was in a good location but i would not recommend this hotel.

“Lovely hotel but didn't like the lifts”

Park Hotel Amsterdam

Aug 18, 2008

We have just spent a weekend at this hotel and we were on the 3rd floor. We thought the hotel overall was very good but a big criticism were the lifts which we disliked immensely. Having to change lifts just to reach the 3rd floor /go downstairs several times a day was a real hassle - we weren't too bothered about the refurbishment though - I know it had been a lot worse prior to our visit. Our room was really lovely and even though it had quite a bit of street noise going on outside well into each night we didn't find it too much of an inconvenience - you are in the City after all!

We didn't like the shower and toilet cubicles. You could regularly end up with your feet and clothing drenched each time the loo was used which was a real nuisance.

Overall, a well positioned hotel with nice canal views but it was the Staff and the food which made it extra special. Would stay there again without hesitation and would recommend.
