My girlfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend. We booked the Borgmann because it was a short walk to the start of the Amsterdam Half Marathon (as we were taking part). The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good english. The location is great. it backs on to the park and is situated in a very affluent area and so is very quiet. It is a good 15 min walk to the edge of town. But you can get a tram 5 mins away.
We hired bikes which are great for Amsterdam. Makes it much easier to get around. Not sure if it was worth the £100 per night though!

I stayed in the Borgmann Villa Hotel this month and it was marvelous. The staff received me with great warmth and I felt very much at home (this has far from always been the case in hotels for me). I recommend the Borgmann for everybody, young till old, solo or groups, because of the ideal location and good price-value (dare I say, more value then price!). But beware, you'll be sad when you leave ;)

Just back from a three day break. The location is quiet and overlooks the very attractive Vondelpark and we had a very nice room. Breakfast though was very modest - we expected more for the price. We had to leave at 7.30am on the last day (Saturday) so we could not have breakfast and although sandwiches and a couple of hard boiled eggs were provided the night before, to take with us, it was hardly adequate. It would have been nice if someone had made the effort to get up early (7am) to set up the (even modest) breakfast.

On a separate issue, allow loads of time at Amsterdam Airport and, if possible, avoid a taxi trip from the hotel to the airport, it cost us 32 Euros for the 8 minute journey!

“OK but pretty basic...”

Had booked via venure and booking stated a Double room. I even emailed the hotel direct the day before our sta to confirm it all. When we arrived it was two single beds, individually made but pushed together. We mentioned this to the staff but they said they couldn't re-make it 'til the next day (we were only staying 3 days).
The next day the two sngle beds were made as one, however there was no sheet underneath so the beds kept splitting apart and we kept falling down the middle.
The staff didn't seemed bothered at all about our problem and no effort to rectify it or even acknowledge it as a problem.

The hotel was basic, clean enough but nothing special.

Olga is a sweetie and was very helpful with tips on where to go. A good tip was to go to Van Gough museum on Friday night because it's late night opening until 10pm and much quieter than during the day.

I stayed in the Villa for a week and I wish it could have been longer.
The staff was very friendly and always willing to help and make my stay as perfect as possible. The location was, as every other guest of the Villa can affirm, superb.

All I can say is keep up the excellent work and I hope to see you again!
