I spent a week at the Borgmann Villa Hotel at the end of March 2008. I was offered either a single room at 99 Euros/ night (rejected because tiny) and a much bigger double for single use at 120 per night which I chose. Breakfast (boiled egg, ham, cold meats, cheese, cereal etc) 12 Euros extra, a slight irritation. Half way through I pointed out that there was no fresh fruit, and the following day apples appeared. It's in an area of very grand residences, next door in fact to the British Consulate, and adjacent to the beautiful Vondelpark which is the view from the breakfast room. The nearby number 2 tram takes you to the museums or the city centre in a few stops. The hotel is nicer than one might expect from three stars: everything works, beds are comfortable and staff are pleasant and helpful. At 132 Euros a night incluiding b'fast it felt a bit expensive but if you stay here you'll have the peace of mind of knowing that you'll be comfortale and well looked after.
