I recently came back from Hotel Tagoo and what can I say...I will never forget my stay there. From the moment I arrived, the owners Anna and her husband Yanni, the rest of their family and staff all made me feel right at home (they even picked me up from the ferry when I arrived and dropped me off when I was leaving which was much appreciated).
Besides speaking Greek, Anna is fluent in English and I also believe she speaks a few other languages which make it very easy to communicate. She goes out of her way to make your stay at the hotel and on the island enjoyable. She takes time out of her busy schedule to sit down with you and explain where the best restaurants in town are, the best beaches to go to and how to get to them, or any other interesting place you may want to visit. I’ve traveled to various countries and stayed in many hotels over the years, but I have to say that hands down, Anna is the best. From my experience, it’s clear that she truly cares for her guests and that is rare in this day and age.
The hotel itself is quite beautiful. The room was simple but everything was clean and well maintained (which goes for the rest of the hotel as well). It had all the necessities anyone needs such as a comfortable bed, AC, shower/tub, TV, fridge and an in-room safe.
The pool area was spectacular especially with the view of the sea...simply Amazing. Make sure you stick around for the sunsets as they truly are breathtaking. After a long day exploring the town or the various beaches or even if you just want to spend a quiet day away from the crowds, it’s a great place to relax (or in my case, recover from the previous night on the town), that is, until its time to go out and enjoy the endless nightlife once again!
Jimmy the barman, who's also Anna's brother and is also fluent in English, knows his stuff. From creating the perfect mood by playing just the right mix of music, to whipping up that special drink you may want, he has it down to a tee. He's very funny so he'll definitely keep you entertained. The drinks are also probably the cheapest around so be sure to have a few before you head out, as I found out the bars in town can be quite costly. In fact, with Jimmy at the bar and the friendliness of the other guests, you may not even want to venture any further!
I can say a lot more but I think that it’s pretty much covered in all the other reviews. I will definitely be going back and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Mykonos. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
