This hotel is lovely and ideally situated right in the middle of downtown amidst the skyscrapers, and directly across from Hyde Park and the Royal Botanic Gardens. It is walking distance from the Sydney Harbor (where the bridge and opera house are) as well as Darling Harbor, where there are numerous restaurants and bars. It is also right down the street from one of the most amazing shopping complexes, called David Jones. From the outside it looks like a regular dept. store, and then you go into this labyrinthine mass of stores that goes on forever and extends onto a pedestrian-only street. It also has the most extensive food court I've ever seen...the best food we had in AUS was definitely in the food court...and it was inexpensive. (Elsewhere in AUS the food is pretty substandard, although everyone serves with a smile!) Inside the hotel, the TIMES restaurant was ordinary and overpriced, but the Botanica Brasserie was magnificent for brunch and lunch buffets, although not cheap. The Internet is available for free in the lobby, but you'll have to wait, if you don't have your own laptop. The only thing I didn't like about the room was the lack of drawer space.
