I recently had a chance to stay at the Crowne Plaza and found it to be a very nice hotel to stay at. The check-in was prompt and efficient. The lobby was large and modern.

The room I got was one floor down from the deluxe floors and was west facing. It was comfortable with a king size bed, a work desk and chair in the corner. There was an LCD tv available although the broadcasts were not in digital format yet. The mini bar was well stocked.

The bathroom was adequate will the usual toiletries and clean. The room was modern looking and gave a comfortable feel about it.

Because of a slight mixup at check-in, my daily newspaper was not delivered however, they were readily available at the lobby. There were a variety of papers on offer, including the Financial Review. That was a big bonus. Not often you see hotels offering complimentary Fin Reviews.

Also, I wasn't sure if the hote was near a night club but there were some loud music going on and if you were looking for an early night sleep on the weekend, you could have a hard time. But it was all over by midnight.

Overall, the hotel furnishings were modern, it feels new and I enjoyed my stay. The Parramatta Ferry was a stroll round the corner and some nice walks near the hotel. Westfields Shopping Centre is a 10 minute walk away.

I have stayed at Crowne Plaza for around 32 nights the past 6 month, and it seems the service it getting worse each time I´m around.
I don´t know if the staff eventually consider me as a part of the inventory of the hotel, but its really hard to get any good service - I have ex. stopped eating at their resturant, as the service is really slow.
Maybe is the staff not enjoying their work, but there is no reason to let their guest get that feeling...depressing..
Perhaps I´m too young to stay at this hotel (due to the patience)..

On the positive side: great rooms, fair priority club meeting, good location and a FRIENDLY consierge service !

Very nice stay, booked four days late Jan 08 on wotif great weekend rate, hotel very clean modern rooms, close to most types of shops, five min walk to station or ferry terminal
Its a quite position away from the main street
Staff very helpful receptionist was fantastic helped us with any inquiries as ts firts time in Aus
Gave it 5/5 because thats what it was to us

Great hotel, comfortable beds, large rooms even with 2 kids in the room, good location.
