Update to last review..........Wonderful experince a "must do" for Queenstown.

we visited Onsen when we were in new Zealand in December.
it was one of the best experiences of our holiday!
there are 6 individual rooms that look out over the mountain side and down to the shotover River. The hot tubs are large and can easily take 4 people if you want but more romantic for 2!
We booked for the evening and had the glass roof open so we could see the stars.
It's the ideal way to relax after a long day of walking - we are returning to Queenstown for skiing next year and as Onsen is on the way back from the slopes we will definitely be regular visitors!!
Staff were very friendly and couldn't be more helpfull.
We were staying in Arrowtown and had our own car so made our own way there (15 minutes) but they also run a free shuttle bus from Queenstown (10 minutes)

Tried this out over Easter and had a great soak. Was collected right on time from The Station in Queenstown and taken to the Onsen which overlooks the Shotover River. Everyone was helpful and friendly, the onsen is beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. I had a wonderful soak with the roof open and enjoyed watching the beautiful scenery. Would highly recommend this attraction to anyone, a great counterpoint to all the high adrenaline activities of Queenstown.

Wow, did I enjoy that. If you're a long lazy hot bath person (or even if you're not) then this is the definitive experience for you. A more sublimely relaxing dip you couldn't wish to take.

The place itself affords magnificent views across a river valley to mountains and the electric windows mean you can just about make it an open air bath. At 38 degrees or more the alpine water (with or without bubbles) is a luxurious way to ease away the stresses of the day.

Sitting in the red ceddar tub watching the last of the evening sun against the tops of the mountains was quite magical. We were trully impressed.

Ten times better than any old spa bath.
