“Good Four Star Hotel”

Radisson SAS Alcron Hotel

4 of 5 stars

Stayed in May 2008.Hotel is situated in what is known as new town. Rooms are reasonable but can be a mix of various sizes for the same price so watch out.Usual four star facilities bar a pool.Food is good especially breakfast buffet.
Staff were helpful especially the concierge came up with some good places to go.
If we go back to Prague again I would stay in old town as its much more scenic than new town, it would be nicer to walk out the door into the more historic part of town, having said that its easy to get around on foot, tram and metro .

“Good base to explore City”

Radisson SAS Alcron Hotel

May 24, 2008

The Radisson SAS Alcron in Prague is a nice, comfortable hotel that works well as a base from which to explore the city. Within walking distance of all the major attractions and the subway.

Inside the hotel has an art deco style in most of its public places and modern well appointed (if just a little bit on the small size) rooms. Live jazz is played most days in the hotel bar. The staff were efficient and helpful.

Our 'Royal Club' room featured a large LCD TV with free pay movies and TV, a suprisingly well stocked free mini bar, capsule coffee machine, rather nice bathroom amenities, dressing gown, slippers etc etc. Wi-fi Internet access is free, but you need to contact reception for an access code. The beds are comfortably firm with a mattress topper. Our double bed had two single duvets - which actually worked quite well.

The rate included access to an executive louge - however this disappointed - its a room next to check in that offers a few odd sandwiches or fruit during the day, coffee, etc. Nothing special.

We only had breakfast at the hotel. It was a bit dissappointing for a hotel of this quality. Juice from concentrate - rather than freshly squeezed! The trays holding the bacon and scrambled eggs were empty - and once we mentioned this to a member of staff, we were advised to wait 10 minutes.. perhaps they should have kept an eye on the trays in the first place? There was a pile of toast kept warm under a hot light - but of course it was dry - hint to hotel management - this is why other hotels let customers use a toaster!!!

We changed our check out plans at the very last moment (checking out 48 hours earlier than we had planned). The hotel was very reasonable and simply charged a late check out on the day of departure enabling us to stay in the room until 7pm.

Notwithstanding the comments about breakfast we would be happy to stay here again.

Excellent Art Deco Hotel, very good location for sightseeing. Very comfortable, service good. Didn't eat in the restaurants but heard good things. Recommended - you won't be disappointed if you go here.

“Luxury Prague hotel, 10 out of 10 for location and superb service”

I got back from an amazing few days staying in Prague at the Art Deco style five star Radisson SAS hotel, which is ideally located just off the Wenceslas Square city centre area and walking distance to the main attractions of Prague. This is one of the most attractive cities in Europe and The Radisson is considered as one of the best hotels in the area as far as the locals are concerned. I enjoyed my stay here and will go back. Wi-Fi internet access is free throughout the hotel, which is now rare to get in five star chain properties and I hate being charged extra just to use my laptop! I got a complimentary drink at the Be Bop bar and really nice complimentary toiletries in the room, with a very nice bathroom and comfortable bed. There is a well equiped gym on the second floor, free for all guests and seperate saunas in the men and womens changing rooms to ensure privacy. Downside is that there is no swimming pool or jacuzzi spa, but the fitness room and saunas are a bonus. The bar is good for cocktails and is open until 1.30am and has live jazz sometimes during weekends. Just a tip for anyone coming to Prague for the first time, if you want to save money for airport transfers, don't waste 480 CZKs (per person!) on a shared shuttle or even more on expensive taxis. It's so easy to get the airport bus No.119 to Dejvicka Metro which costs just 30CZKs and then the Metro (Green Line A) is just 26 CZKs. For the Radisson hotel, Muzeum and Mustek stations are just under 10 minutes walk away.

“high quality, effiecent, comfortable”

Radisson SAS Alcron Hotel

I stayed here for three nights. Top notch hotel in the middle of Prague. From start to finish had an efficient, well-run feel about it.
At check-in, they made a slight (understandable as we were checking in, in a group of 5 at the one time) mistake of putting me in an already booked room. No problem. Fixed it in less that 2 minutes, apologies, gave me voucher for the bar, and upgraded me to Executive suites. Excellent customer service.
Room was huge, 2 bathrooms, lounge area, top quality towels and toiletries. Wifi access included in the room.
Furnishing is modern and refreshing and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was abundant and of top quality.
One slight issue might be noise, lots of pubs and clubs in the vicinity so is not uncommon to be woken up with late night revelers, especially if you have a room facing the street. Not a reason to avoid this superb hotel though.
Why four stars then? Well 5 stars needs to be out of this, world luxurious, reserved for only the big big hitters in opulence!
