The Radisson SAS Alcron in Prague is a nice, comfortable hotel that works well as a base from which to explore the city. Within walking distance of all the major attractions and the subway.
Inside the hotel has an art deco style in most of its public places and modern well appointed (if just a little bit on the small size) rooms. Live jazz is played most days in the hotel bar. The staff were efficient and helpful.
Our 'Royal Club' room featured a large LCD TV with free pay movies and TV, a suprisingly well stocked free mini bar, capsule coffee machine, rather nice bathroom amenities, dressing gown, slippers etc etc. Wi-fi Internet access is free, but you need to contact reception for an access code. The beds are comfortably firm with a mattress topper. Our double bed had two single duvets - which actually worked quite well.
The rate included access to an executive louge - however this disappointed - its a room next to check in that offers a few odd sandwiches or fruit during the day, coffee, etc. Nothing special.
We only had breakfast at the hotel. It was a bit dissappointing for a hotel of this quality. Juice from concentrate - rather than freshly squeezed! The trays holding the bacon and scrambled eggs were empty - and once we mentioned this to a member of staff, we were advised to wait 10 minutes.. perhaps they should have kept an eye on the trays in the first place? There was a pile of toast kept warm under a hot light - but of course it was dry - hint to hotel management - this is why other hotels let customers use a toaster!!!
We changed our check out plans at the very last moment (checking out 48 hours earlier than we had planned). The hotel was very reasonable and simply charged a late check out on the day of departure enabling us to stay in the room until 7pm.
Notwithstanding the comments about breakfast we would be happy to stay here again.
