“Fine hotel - Prague.....................??”

Radisson SAS Alcron Hotel

Usual european airport nightmares. Transfer showed the worst of Prague - poor, barren war torn.
Hotel was totally as expected for Radisson. Slick, immaculate, professional - though undertone of the 80's/90's. Same with room. Buffet breakfast excellent. Hotel too far out from center. - 45-60 minute walk. Taxi's and tram thing easy to use.
FOR ME....Prague is fairly attractive and interesting with a confusing mixture of old and new. Architecture nice but not stunning. Food is fantastic anywhere. Must try duck and dumplings and the red cabbage thing. But overall Prague for me is souless. It didn't embrace me and there was never a 'wow' factor. I understand it can be seedy in places at night and lots of places to get drunk.

“The BEST Radisson Ever! (Excellent Rooms, Staff, Benefits)”

Radisson SAS Alcron Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Prague, CZ

I stayed at this Hotel for nearly 2 months so I have a pretty good feel for this place-- literally about 100meters from Wenclas Square, Muzeum Metro, Mustek Metro etc).

I am typically a Starwood hotel guy, but alas the Sheraton here wont be open until Jan 2009. So I went with the Radisson based upon reviews here and the price (even though my work pays.)

First the rooms are excellent! New, Modern, Flat Screens, Etc. Free Internet, Huge Bathrooms, Nice Towels/Sheets/Linens, Designer Soaps, Lotion, Etc.

If you are Gold Elite, you get free minibar and payperview and laundry and a million other perks at this hotel. The breakfast is great, the executive lounge is nice if you are able to utilize. They truly value loyalty here and will take really good care of you!!!

Try and get a room with a balcony- the balconies are huge!!

La Rotunde restaraunt is excellent as well-- I ate nearly everything on the menu. In the summer they BBQ outside and have about 30 types of meats/veggies/sauces you can pick from and they throw it on the BBQ outside.

Only downers here:
- For TV, there is only CNN, BBC, and EuroNews in English
- I saw all the pay per view movies after about 2 weeks
- Gym is kind of small, but does have saunas (his and hers)

The service is excellent all the way around and Daniella (the concierge) is the best!!

One of the better hotels I have stayed in Europe!!

    • Disliked — Really everything was great, i guess if I had to say one thing they only have 3 TV Channels in English

“Not the cheapest, but worth the price”

Stayed there for two nights for business reasons. Got a so called "Roayl Club" room. The room was nicely furnished and spacious.
Technical equipment was very good, including flat TV, coffee machine and DVD.
In the "Royal Club" rate icluded is access to an Executive Lounge on ground floor, where you have computers and printers, newspapers. free coffee and snacks etc.
Location is right in the center, Wenceslas Square is just round the corner.
Breakfast is very good, a huge choice from the buffet. The bar is ok, with live music from time to time.
Not the cheapest of hotels, but you get what you expect for the price

“Good Four Star Hotel”

Radisson SAS Alcron Hotel

Stayed in May 2008.Hotel is situated in what is known as new town. Rooms are reasonable but can be a mix of various sizes for the same price so watch out.Usual four star facilities bar a pool.Food is good especially breakfast buffet.
Staff were helpful especially the concierge came up with some good places to go.
If we go back to Prague again I would stay in old town as its much more scenic than new town, it would be nicer to walk out the door into the more historic part of town, having said that its easy to get around on foot, tram and metro .

“Good base to explore City”

Radisson SAS Alcron Hotel

May 24, 2008
1/1 found this review helpful

The Radisson SAS Alcron in Prague is a nice, comfortable hotel that works well as a base from which to explore the city. Within walking distance of all the major attractions and the subway.

Inside the hotel has an art deco style in most of its public places and modern well appointed (if just a little bit on the small size) rooms. Live jazz is played most days in the hotel bar. The staff were efficient and helpful.

Our 'Royal Club' room featured a large LCD TV with free pay movies and TV, a suprisingly well stocked free mini bar, capsule coffee machine, rather nice bathroom amenities, dressing gown, slippers etc etc. Wi-fi Internet access is free, but you need to contact reception for an access code. The beds are comfortably firm with a mattress topper. Our double bed had two single duvets - which actually worked quite well.

The rate included access to an executive louge - however this disappointed - its a room next to check in that offers a few odd sandwiches or fruit during the day, coffee, etc. Nothing special.

We only had breakfast at the hotel. It was a bit dissappointing for a hotel of this quality. Juice from concentrate - rather than freshly squeezed! The trays holding the bacon and scrambled eggs were empty - and once we mentioned this to a member of staff, we were advised to wait 10 minutes.. perhaps they should have kept an eye on the trays in the first place? There was a pile of toast kept warm under a hot light - but of course it was dry - hint to hotel management - this is why other hotels let customers use a toaster!!!

We changed our check out plans at the very last moment (checking out 48 hours earlier than we had planned). The hotel was very reasonable and simply charged a late check out on the day of departure enabling us to stay in the room until 7pm.

Notwithstanding the comments about breakfast we would be happy to stay here again.
