“Fantastic centrally located hotel”

We have just returned from a 4 day trip to Prague. This hotel was ideally situated , just off Wencelas Square and about 3 minutes walk from a main Metro station. The hotel is very modern and has lots of facilities e.g a 'wellness centre', free internet access etc.
The staff were very helpful and spoke excellent english. They were very knowledable about restaurants, cafes etc. The room was fantastic , we had our own very large terrace area which we enjoyed sitting out on drinking our complimentary bottle of champagne. The room was a decent size with a very comfortable bed. There was tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary toileteries in the bathroom. The furnishings were very modern, light and airy. The breakfast was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble and there was champagne!!! The late check out of 12.00 pm is great so you can enjoy a relaxing breakfast, there is also a locked luggage room which gives you excellent piece of mind if you need to leave your luggage for later collection.

“Fab Hotel - amazing City”

Modern, clean and welcoming hotel. The room we had was on the top floor and very spacious. I take people's point about the nearby sex clubs, but we didn't hear a thing and they didn't bother us at all.

Although it's in the new town, Prague is very compact so it was only 10 mins walk to the Old Town - which is stunning, we were suprised what a great city Prague was and would love to go back.

Breakfast was great, although the room was hot and when I got up to get seconds, they cleared away my plate and glass - didn't matter, I went back and got more. Loved having Bucks Fizz for breakfast - it's the way life should be.

Overall, we had a fab long weekend and would definitely go back and stay at the K&K Fenix - although, we had a look at the K&K Central while we were in Prague and might try that next, just for something different.

“Beware of the hotel area!!!”

Beware of the area...... near old town convenient location BUT right next to several sex clubs. Although the hotel is relatively new, very clean and fairly comfortable, this location may not be for everyone. The immediately surrounding of the hotel reminds me of Time Square in Manhattan many years ago when it was dangerous to walk around at night.

Hotel room...... is small but comfortable. The interior design is contemporary and generic. Nothing really special. The buffet breakfast is good. The service is also fine. Thus... nothing to jump up and down for! It is just a reasonably priced average clean hotel in a central location.

Public transportation.....metro station is very close by. We recommend to take the metro and bus to the airport because it is easy and cheap.

Beware the metro controller ..... make sure you stamp your metro ticket before you enter because you (i.e. tourists) are picked out to be checked. You will be fined. This is a easy way for them to make money from the tourists.

“Great Stay”

K+K Hotel Fenix

May 28, 2008

We stayed at this hotel by accident because our original hotel I booked, the EuroAgentur Crystal Palace overbooked us and sent us here. It wasn't a big deal they ordered a cab which they paid for and we were in the K K Fenix 15 minutes after we walked in the Crystal Palace. We were very pleased with the K K Fenix. It has a very nice lobby, very friendly staff who all speak English. The room was great although the double was two twins pushed together. The beds were very comfortable as was the comforter. Room was spotlessly clean and spacious. Bathroom was a good nice and the shower was clean with plenty of hot water and decent pressure. The TV had 7 english channels including 3 HBO's. A minibar was also in the room to use or store your own drinks in. The room safe worked great. Breakfast was superb and open until 12 noon on the weekends, they were even letting people in ten minutes past 12. Champagne and O.J. was available for mimosas which was a nice touch.
As for the area, it is next door to two cabarnet/strip clubs which don't pose any problem although the first night it was very loud down there due to a Stag party, but we had ear plugs so it wasn't too bad. The metro stop is a three minute walk, and a mini market with alcohol is directly across the street from the hotel. Wenceslas Square is not even a one minute walk away, but that didn't matter to us. This square is expensive to eat and drink in, filled with seedy people and a haven for the most annoying, offensive, drunkest and most obnoxious group Europe has to offer which is the British Stag Do. I'm from the States, but am currently living in England temporarily, but if you're not familiar with a stag do is, let me fill you in. Its basically an overblown bachelor party where a group of British guys usually packs of 6-15 of them go to a cheap place in mainland Europe for the weekend wearing all matching shirts saying "Tom's Prague '08 Stag" or something similar or they were fancy dress in which they all dress up in costumes. They travel in packs are very loud and disrespectful and are drunker beyond belief the entire time. They prefer to hang out in either British pubs or Irish pubs. They are very, very loud and obnoxious and if you want to enjoy the culture of Prague, you might as well visit another area such as the Old Town north of Wenceslas Square or the Mala Strana area near the Castle, which is on the left bank of the river. Its quieter there with cheaper food and drinks.
That said, the hotel is very nice and we had a great stay , my negative comments were based on the area the hotel sits in and the type of people you may come across there. If you're looking for a quieter area, avoid Wenceslas Square which this nice hotel is basically in.

“centrally located - that's the only great thing about it”

This hotel was okay - it was centrally located, was reasonably clean and modern. However it was noisy at night. Also, I didn't find the front desk very helpful, and a couple times they were downright rude to me. My luggage was delayed and after it was delivered to the hotel in the middle of the day they couldn't find it. After about 20 minutes of the front desk staff searching, I went up to my room and found it there, already delivered. About a 2-3 star experience.
