“little jewel”

Jul 6, 2008

After having spent two sleepless nights in a hotel by Wenceslas Square on our way to a wedding in Jesenik, we decided to seek somewhere quieter and more peaceful for our return stay in Prague.

Hotel 16 ticked all the boxes, being in a delightfully peaceful quarter of the town right by all the delightful University buildings. It was a pleasure to to explore the quiet streets between the parks and fine houses in the evening, returning back to the little hotel and its friendly staff.

The rooms are all very neat and well decorated, with TV's and mini bars. The Hotel itself has a small bar, but isn't suited for sitting and drinking the night away with friends. However, there is a fine, quiet, traditional Czech bar only two hundred yards away, which serves food and good beers at excellent prices.

Rooms are spacious and well equipped, Breakfast is very good, with plenty of choice, the staff are exemplary and appear fluent in most European languages. Overall, with the exception of not having a dedicated bar area or lounge, the hotel is a delight and well worth the price.

Try it if you are sick of the crowds and noise, or just want a pleasant peaceful place to stay.

“Wonderful Hotel”

Hotel 16

Jun 19, 2008

We stayed at Hotel 16 for 6 nights at the end of May. The hotel exceeded my expectations in every category. The staff was great, the room was great... breakfast was a delight....

The front desk was very helpful and you could see the pride in their faces as they offered tips on the best way to see their beautiful city. They were helpfull with everything.... understanding the public transit, getting taxi's... booking tours... you name it. They also recommended a great restaurant less than a block away... U Emy Destinnove. We enjoyed our dinner there so much we returned two nights later, and once again we enjoyed the evening so much we returned on our last night in Prague. A great recommendation.

The hotel is out of the tourist center, which is how I like it, and I would definitely stay here on our next visit.

“Wonderful Boutique Hotel!”

Hotel 16

May 27, 2008

We stayed at the hotel over a long weekend and had a very lovely experience. The room we had was located on the top floor in the rear of the building and was very quiet. The continental breakfast was wonderful and had everything you could ask for included. The Hotel offers complimentary tea delivered to your room in the afternoon also. We thought our room was tastefully decorated and very conducive to relaxing. We always dealt with polite, friendly and helpful people at Hotel 16 and we would definitely recommend it.

The first night we arrived we were not up to searching for some place to eat and the young man at the reception desk pointed us to a small restaurant a block from the hotel called Restaurant u Emy Destinnov'e. It was exactly what we were looking for with a wonderful menu, great presentation and good prices along with personalized service.

The hotel is a short walk to the tram or the metro which takes you practically anywhere you'd like to go in a pretty reasonable and efficient way. Prague is a wonderful city and I would definitely love to return. The city is rich in history and most beautiful at night.

“Nice little place”

Very friendly, clean and inviting place to stay. We enjoyed the breakfast, found the rooms to be more than satisfactory and were pleased with how the staff treated us. The location is good as well, as it is just one tram stop from I.P. Pavlova, a metro station, and it is very close to the famous Pivovarsky Dum.

“a dream come true”

Hotel 16

Mar 20, 2008

We stayed at this small and comfortable hotel for five days - we wished we did not have to leave. The overall friendliness and charm of the staff was surprising, and very welcome. The breakfast sublime without the feeling of a frenzy. Prague itself is gorgeous, but, to come back to this small, warm hotel after 5 hours of walking around, seeing sights was the highlight of our trip.
The hotel, with its 14 rooms, friendly and welcome service and comforts was a highlight of out trip and we are looking forward to going back as soon as possible.
This hotel is one of the hidden secret treasures of Prague.
