We read quite a few reviews on the hotel before my fiance and I booked it for a long weekend in March this year. I was impressed by all the reviews, but was completely blown away when we got to the hotel. The staff were so incredibly friendly and accommodating, constantly with a smile on their faces. Their english was impecable and they just went out of their way to help us. Our room was beautiful - I had specifically asked for a room with a balcony (I had emailed the hotel before we left), and we were given this. Although there is no view from the balcony, it's a cosy, private little area outside the room - great for sitting outside and enjoying the fresh air with a cup of tea (or glass of wine!). Our bedroom had gorgeous wooden beams running through the ceiling and the ceiling was very high. The bathroom was incredibly clean and the power shower was excellent. I read a review saying how someone was disappointed there were no tea and coffee making facilities, but there was - so I think someone from the hotel has been reading these reviews! Also, the complimentary breakfast in the morning was excellent. There were fried eggs, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, then a lot of cold cuts, cheeses, yoghurts, cereals. There was lots of it, and it was constantly being refilled by Chris was was so friendly to greet in the morning and who was always singing! I also read a review about the breakfast being lousy and as you can see, this wasn't the case - so I really feel as if all criticisms have been taken seriously by the hotel and they have tried to improve their service. Finally, the location was amazing - just a 10 minute walk to the jewish cemetry and old town. We walked everywhere and it was just so convenient. There are also lots of lovely bars and restaurants nearby. The first night we got there we ate at a lovely italian restaurant - can't remember the name, but you walk down some steps to get to it and it's opposite the old church - beautiful food and a beautiful bottle of wine too! Anyway, if you haven't already grasped what I've been trying to say here - this was really the best hotel I've been to in a long time, it ticked so many boxes - not least the fact that we got it for such a cheap price too. If we return to Prague, I will not think twice about staying here again and have been recommending this hotel to eveyone I know who is about visit the city!
