Stayed here for an extended weekend June 13-16. I was with my siter-in-law and two young neices (ages 8 and 10). This hotel has great location. I've stayed at others in the DC area and have now learned to confine myself to downtown only. The rooms are nice, nothing speacial. If you stay, get the breakfast option - the meal is wonderful - not the typical continental fare but everything from grits and oatmeal to made-to -order omlettes, french toast, Belgain waffles and lots of fresh fruit. Fantastic deal!
The staff were superb. Everyone from the front desk to the concierge, the waitstaff, the housekkepers, absolutely everyone greeted us with a smile and went out of their way to make us feel important.
When we booked, I had originally booked only one room, but had second thoughts the Monday before we left. I was able to get another room but told it would be on another flor, and was just a king bed rather than two doubles. When we arrived at the hotel, the gentleman at the desk saw to it that we had adjoining rooms, each with two beds. We could not have asked for better service. The whole stay was stress-free and lovely.
Metro station located right across the street made transportation easy.
The only drawbacks were the small size of the pool (but who goes to DC to swim anyway?) and Franklin Square across the street is overrun with homeless folks. Typical of DC, I know, and not the hotel's fault, but just be prepared for that.
