Stayed recently for weekend wedding and was pleasantly surprised by the good service and overall positive experience at this hotel. Had a very good group rate of $139 per night. We all arrived early and front desk did a good job of handling lots of early arrivals and special requests. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Most of our rooms had windows facing inside so views were very dismal but no noise from the street to bother you. The hotel's location is very convenient for sightseeing but it is in a business area so weekends are pretty quiet.
The rooms include both fridge and micro and coffee maker which I find very convenient. The hotel's pantry store was also very convenient -- we closed their little bar and then were able to buy a bottle of wine from the pantry to continue our celebration in our rooms. The night clerk even de-corked it for us.
It was 98 degrees outside but the hotel was very comfortable
throughout our stay. Others have mentioned the pricey buffet breakfast and I would have to agree. We were kind of stuck there as we were meeting relatives and others in the wedding party for breakfast both mornings but if I were there on my own I would grab a cup of their free coffee in the lobby to wake up and then run down to starbucks which is a half a block away.
We did not use the metro (didn't notice the metro stop as a matter of fact) since we were all decked out for wedding activities and cabs were very easy to get. Loved the full service of the hotel with doormen and concierge being very very helpful. Don't be shy about asking the concierge for help -- he has a computer right there and he was extremely helpful.
This has nothing to do with this hotel or the specific location of the hotel but we all noticed the very high number of homeless people in DC. in general. Not sure why the high concentration but it was sadly noticeable.
If you can get a decent rate I would definitely book this hotel.
