There is everything to love about this place (unless you need a swim.) I did not eat here but stayed 4 nights (TH-SU) of total comfort and cleanliness and friendliness (great bathroom.) Everything I needed, especially the greatest location two blocks from White House, Old Ebbit Grill, K Street, one block to Metro, fastest-never-waited-elevators. Very Nice - worth whatever you pay (look for deals) and nothing to complain about unless you are a 'never happy' weirdo. I even spared the silly wireless fees by using the free computers in the business center. Keep up the great job, Sofitel DC personnel.

First time in Washington and in Sofitel property. We booked based on the Tripadvisor user-rating/reviews.

This is indeed a very nice hotel.

Based on a guidebook we had requested a 2nd og 3rd floor room facing H og 15th street. This was acknowledeg by the hotel via e-mail. When checking in we were upgraded to a Junior suite which was, however facing the hotel "back-yard". Overall we appriciatede the very lareg room and that fully compensated for the missing view of the street.

Highlights:
Extremly attentive and helpfull staff!
Very comfortable room - a very spacious junior suite.
Niche touches as a small bottle of water with the turn-down service.
Any requests are delt with promptly.
Room-service is prompt and delicious (Tried only one time).
Large flat-screen with too many channels and functions to count.
Concierge desk is very knowledgeble and friendly.

Minor flaws:
We requested two individual duvets insted of then one - this was not available.
No view from room.

I compleeted a questionaire from the hotel sent by e-mail a few days later. They returned promptly and said what they were doing about the minor flaws I had mentioned.

Overall would highly reccomend the hotel if you are visitning Washington DC.

After checking out at the Sofitel New York, we were eager to see if their collegues in DC were able to provide us with the same level of service! Yvette at the front desk checked us in and gave a promise that they would be even better. Our room was facing the offices of the next building but we didnt mind. As in NYC, the windows appears to be soundproof, except for the occational sirens we heard nothing! The room was even spacier than Sofitel NYC. Same spotless standard! The aircon was VERY silent, now and then I had to check whether it was running or not.

The location could not been better, a mere 10 minutes walk from the White House. And when it was getting really hot outside, it was a pleasure to return to this oasis every day. We didnt have dinner at the hotel but the breakfast was a feast. God I miss the orange juice! Best I have tasted in my life!

Highy reccommended!! You will not be dissapointed!

Selected this hotel from past reviews on Tripadvisor website, and was not diappointed. I only planned a short stay in DC (2 nights), so location was my priority. In saying that, I could have not been more pleased with this hotel. It was within walking distance (about 3 mins walk) from the White House, and main shopping areas. There were also plenty of places to eat nearby.
The hotel staff were all very friendly, and the hotel was of an excellent standard.
Would definately stay here again.
