“Loved Paradise Pier!!”

Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel

Aug 20, 2008

We stayed here for a medical conference while the family visited Disneyland. We had a great time and the service was excellent. The rooms were nice a big and had the fold out couch. There were two restaurants on the property and both were good. I have read reports that the elevators were slow, but we never had a problem with them.

The pool area was nice and the children loved the water slide. We also appreciated the tot pool.

I was much more impressed by this hotel that the Candy Cane Inn that we have stayed in several times. The rooms were much larger and brighter. The whole atmosphere was more luxurious. Also, the walk to the parks was not bad at all. Plus you could take a short ride on the Monorail and get right into Disneyland from nearby.

“Enjoyable, but Pricey”

Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel

Aug 15, 2008

The room was great, the view was great, the service was great, the staff was great, but breakfast was $30 per person...WOW!. I would stay at the hotel again, I would even suggest it as a place for family reunions (I have pretty small family). But I would not recommend eating in the hotel. Seriously, we paid $30 for our 3 yr old to eat 1/2 a pancake and some orange juice. There are lots of other options in the parks and in Downtown Disney.

“Safety Over Price”

Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel

We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights. The hotel is clean and the staff is great. One day my mother took care of my 3 kids so that my husband and i could go to California Adventure. She went to the bathroom to clean my son and when she came out she thought she lost my middle child. Within seconds of her calling the front desk, ecurity was knocking on the door and the entire hallway was full of cast members. Since the hotel was close I was able to get there from the park in about 3 minutes. While I was running to the hotel I lost my park ticket. When I got to the room there were cast members comforting my mother and my children. My daughter was playing hide and go seek with my mother (without her knowing) and ended up falling asleep under the bed. The hotel gave me another park hopper ticket to replace the one i lost and room service brought little mickey cakes to my kids. The cast members were awesome. You would not get this from one of the good neighbor hotels. If we were staying off property and my daughter was truly lost, my mother would have to call the police and wait for them, I would have had to get out of the park go through downtown disney get on the tram find my car wait to get out of the parking garage drive through the traffic surrouding disneyland and the hotels park my car and then run to the room and the police would still not be there. I would rather pay more than have to go through that. After you add all of the cost to stay off property (hotel, resort fee, parking fee for disneyland, GAS, safety and proximity to the parks) you might as well pay up front and stay on property.

I was traveling solo and was greatly inpressed with this hotel.Check in was fast compared to many other hotels. The king bed was soft and fluffy just like sticth. The breakfast was more than i could eat> The waite staff was great and even the chief waved when i came by with my viedo camera. The room was allways made up when i reunted from the parks and the trun down sevice with the candy coins was a great suriprie.I alos liked it when mousekeeping took the time to pick up my stuffed toys and sat them on chouch. The hotel staff were really wonderfull and even thank me when I had to make resevartions for my trip back to the airport. The desk clerk told me that many guests waite untile the day of depature to make those revartions. I alos want to say the staff any handle any emermcey that happens, I was useing the pool some one had pulled the fireralarm and the staff were calam and comforting. Thank goodness there wasn't any fiere. Please consider the paradise pier for your next vactacion> Mashelle Patrick centeriala Washington

“Awesome experience”

We had never stayed in a Disney Resort. The hotel was way above your average hotel. Very clean. Rooms were promptly cleaned before we got back in the afternoon. I was a litttle worried when I saw reviews of the walking distance. I don't know how far these people who complain walk but to get to California Adventure you walk across the street to the Grand Californian, maybe a 5 min walk, very close. To get to Disneyland you walk to Downtown Disney, again maybe 5-10 mins not very far at all then you can catch the monorail or walk through Downtown Disney to the park.

If you were staying outside the park you would be parking and walking to the tram and then still having to walk into the park, your distance would be farther than walking from the Paridise Pier Hotel.

I also saw complains about the elevators, we were there over the 4th of July the most busiest day. We never had to wait long for an elevator. In fact, one of the bell hops even took people up in the service elevator!!

Do not let them valet park your car it's 17.00/day, if you self park the parking is free. There are no elevators in the parking garage, but the bell hops will unload your car and keep your bags until you get to your room, then you call them and they will bring your bags up to you.

There is not a laundry facility inside Paridise Pier, you have to walk over to the Disneyland hotel. We did this, we just loaded the dirty clothes in one suitcase, washed and folded and brought them back, very easy. The laundry facility is right outside a pool so you can go in and enjoy the pool while doing your laundry.

I really think the people who write the bad reviews on this hotel expect to be right by the park. You are very close, closer than any of the outside hotels.

Oh also they upgraded us from a standard view to a park view at no extra cost.
