“Perfect room for the 5 of us...just right!”

We booked this one night (Nov. 5, 2008). The hotel was fairly empty, so they upgraded us to a view of the park. This seemed great, but we were kept up a little later due to some fireworks nearby (not sure where, as the park was closed)!! Nonetheless, it was a great room. 2 queen beds and one twin bed for my youngest. It is sometimes tricky with three kids, but this set up works great for us. My husband and I still get one child each with us, but in a queen bed it is much roomier.

We got a notice the morning we were checking out with an option to stay for one more night for $99.00. Unfortunately, for us to stay another night, we would have needed to purchase another day at the park--which negates the savings on the room! If we had only know earlier, we could have planned!! The park was EMPTY (we were there Wed and Thurs Nov, 5 and 6th). No more than a 10 minute wait anywhere. NICE!

“Great view of the California Adventures”

Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel

Stayed in Room 1126. Great view of Disney's California Adventures and the mountains. Unfortunately, there during the fires so lobby even had smoky smell. Rooms were fine and no smoky smell above the lobby level. Refrigerator, safe, coffee pot all nice to have and working well. Plenty of bathroom supplies-nice big tub with shower (but some mold around shower control). Everything else spotless. Nice closet with ample space. Good tv with about 25 channels (not as many as advertised but not there to watch alot of tv)-most local channels were showing fires anyway. 2 beds and a single sofa bed. Beds not as comfortable as those at other places I've stayed (i.e. most Hampton Inns and BW Raffles) pillows not as firm as I would have liked. Clock radio between beds worked fine. Didn't sleep on sofa bed. Great view from the room which made for more enjoyable stay watching the roller coaster, Mulholland Madness, and the Maliboomer as well as more. The easiest way to get to the parks is via the Grand Californian-use their entry to DCA or go through Downtown Disney for Magic Kingdom. Had hoped to enjoy fireworks from room but none due to fires and dry weather-not Disney's fault. Didn't try any of the Disney area restaurants this time-prior review of mine recommended Sal's Taste of Italy about 3 miles away-don't go unless you want to be sick-food was awful this time and service not much better. Parking was easy except one night when there was a wedding or something and many locals taking up spaces in hotel parking lot-resort fee covers parking and local calls. I would definitey stay there again-request a park view rather than a city view (not much to see on that side). One more note-the check in was top notch and staff went above and beyond in all aspects. They have fitness room and pool but didn't use either. Game room for kids but definitely didn't use that. Have a great time and tell Donald and Mickey I'll be back!

What impressed us most was the staff. Everyone went out of their way to be extremely helpful, polite and so very friendly. Our room was upgraded upon early arrival. We were on the 13th floor and had a lovely view of the park.

I look forward to staying at the Paradise Pier Park in the future.

Thank you for the wonderful time.

“pleasantly surprised”

Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel

Oct 21, 2008

my husband, 2yr old, and i stayed at PP and were expecting it to be more of a motel when a lot of people refer to it as the budget disney hotel. If you can get a good rate, it can be a good deal, over 200.00 a night, it would probably be better to stay off property like at the BW anaheim inn. we found the rooms to be quite spacious, clean, and with nice views(we had CA view).

The walk to disneyland was about 15 minutes, but that is about the same as from any of the parking lots and you can just walk thru downtown disney which makes it quite nice. you just need to cross the street and thru the grand cali to get to CA. everything is a long day of walking when talking about disneyland.

the hotel has vending machines for sodas and snacks or 24 hour room service, you can also have local pizza or chinese delivery to the hotel if you just get fed up with being around so many people and overpriced disney food.

if you are a smoker, ask for a 3rd floor room. it is the same floor as the pool and you can step out for a smoke without having to deal with elevators etc.

we enjoyed our stay and would go back for the right price.

“Great location and benefits!”

Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Northern California
Oct 17, 2008

My husband and I stayed at the Paradise Pier and loved it! Benefits include the direct access into the parks and you can shop and have your items delivered to your room! Just across the street, you have direct access to California Adventure by going through the Grand Californian Hotel lobby. It's a beautiful walk through this hotel and you walk right into the park through the back entrance. No crowds, no waiting in line, you show your pass and into the park you go, it's awesome! While shopping at the parks or Downtown Disney, you can have all your items delivered to your room, they arrive the following morning. I love to shop in the morning when the stores are not yet crowded, but hate carrying packages around. This was a great service to use!

The hotel is really nice and parking there was easy. They have a huge gift shop in the lobby with souvenirs, food items, everyday items, a little bit of everything. We were there everyday checking things out. They also have a restaurant, Disney's PCH Grill where you can dine with Lilo and Stitch. We didn't have time to eat here, but it looked nice.

The rooms are pretty standard, you get awesome views of California Adventure Park from the higher up floors. We were on a lower level and didn't have that view, but our friend were on the 11th floor with a fantastic view! Request higher up floors if you can! We did order room service and the breakfast was fantastic! You get a lot of food and we ordered hot chocolate, which came in a carafe with a full can of whipped cream! That was a surprise and was more than we could finish, but worth the price.

Our only concern would be with the elevators. At the time we went, it took quite awhile to wait for the elevators and we opted to use the stairs once since they seem to never come to our floor (5th). We could hear them going up and down, but they would not stop on our floor or it would take at least 5 minutes! Hopefully this has been corrected.

Everyone was very friendly, the hotel was clean and we had a really good stay.
