“LOVED IT , cant wait to return”

Lemon Tree Hotel

4 of 5 stars
northeast usa
Jul 21, 2008

I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment on the bottom floor. I loved that it had a private entrance. There was always a parking spot for me right outside the door. The Spanish decor was great. The rooms were large with huge closets. Both rooms had sliding glass doors that led to a patio. The desk was welcoming and informative. I went back several times for directions and local information and they were always pleasant and knowledgable.
The only 2 things that prevented me from rating it "excellent" instead of above average were 1) The apartment upstairs was not very sound proof from footsteps, I could hear a lot of running around from children and chairs being moved. 2) The hot tub only had 1 working Jet, the water felt great and was clean but it was more like a bath than a hot tub.

“Quiet and Convenient”

Lemon Tree Hotel

The Lemon Tree is three miles from Disney/KBF but the peace and quite was worth the $12 parking charge at the amusement parks (you get re-entry rights for the entire day should you have to leave and come back to Disney so it's a one-time fee).

The hotel staff was exceptional, including the maintenance personnel. The pool/spa was great for relaxing after a day at the parks and is located in the center of the property, surrounded by gardens, a Koi pond, fountains, and a picnic area complete with benches and a bar-b-que.

We booked the executive king room, which allowed us to put our kids on either of two sofa beds in the main room while we slept in the bedroom. The room had a full kitchen, allowing us to pack lunches each day (significant savings over lunch at the parks).

There was very little traffic noise, and we were near the front office. The continental breakfast was limited, but sufficient to get you to lunchtime. There was also hardly any noise heard from other guests and, unlike some hotels nearer the parks, the Lemon tree was not overrun with unruly/unsupervised children.

The Lemon Tree is a five-minute walk from a strip mall, which includes several restaurants, a drug store, and a grocery store, and a ten-minute drive from "The Block"...a large mall. Freeway access is a snap, and the trip to LAX (off-peak traffic) was less than 45 minutes.

We will stay here again if our travel plans include Anaheim.

“Nice Stay”

Lemon Tree Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Sydney, Australia
Jun 22, 2008

We stayed here at the beginning of our trip to the US in late April.

The staff were pleasant when we checked in and also helpful later on when we asked them about local restaurants, directions, etc. As there wasn't a lift getting our luggage up stairs was a bit tricky, though I am sure the staff there would be more than happy to help if needed.

Parking was ample which was good and on most days we were able to park just outside the main entrance, however it does get quite busy if you arrive late at night though there was always a spot available.

Location wise, it is a little far from Disneyland especially if you don't have a car; there are buses however I heard that the Disney shuttle buses do not service that particular area. Though if you do have a car its an easy short drive.

The free internet came in very handy and the free continental breakfast was adequate. We had a problem with the toilet in our room however once we told the front desk it was fixed on our return that night. All in all we found the Lemon Tree to be great value for money and had everything we needed, it is neat and tidy and we would recommend it to everyone, though probably not if you don't have a car.

“Perfect access to Theme Parks, but away from it all!”

Lemon Tree Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Pocatello, ID
Jun 9, 2008
1/1 found this review helpful

While planning a trip to Disneyland and Six Flags Magic Mountain (thanx to President Bush's REBATE!!) I was overwhelmed by the amount of information about hotels! Many in our group stayed in the Theme Park District, but I looked elsewhere because I didn't want to have so much traffic and noise.
I found this hotel on orbitz after receiving a 10% discount "code" - It looked ok on the internet, but there was some mixed reviews. I have decided it's all based on who does the reviewing.
We traveled with a 7yr old and a 13yr old. We are from Idaho where fuel is still 3.80 a gallon and you can get a decent room for 60 bux. So an average of 85 bux a night (for 4 nights) was ok.
Its located on a cross-street (East to West) to Interstate 5. It is easy to get to from I-5 AND Highway 57. The street is a 2 to 3 lane road each way with a center/turning lane. From Highway 57, there is a shopping center with grocery, KMart, lots of fast food, etc. From I-5, there is not a lot of "shopping" but you drive through a very nice downtown area. The Hotel is on the SOUTH SIDE of the road, and it sneaks up on you easily. We ended up turning around several times.
The only negative I can think of is the parking - there isnt any. We would unload the truck, and then dh would find a parking spot (on the premisis) somewhere - usually not very close to our room)
The office staff is super friendly and very helpful. The hotel is a remodeled with a lot of Spanish-influence. The breakfast each morning consists of cereal (which was PERFECT for kids), fruit, yogurt, muffins and pastries - orange juice, coffee and lemon water...Simply water with so many lemons in it, actually quite refreshing!! They tear down the breakfast stuff 10ish...
The room had 2 beds, a couch, a table, a micro and fridge, an enormous counter top/mirror outside of the toilet/shower room. I love it when the vanity is separate from the bathroom. The bathroom was quite small, but manageable. They leave typical stuff - soap, shampoo - but we got a real treat with some extras like a sample pit-stick (deod), a fancy razor, some funky hair stuff, etc. Dont know if that was standard, but hey - it was nice.
The pool is not HUGE but clean and nice, but we had little time to spend there. It was a little on the cool side, but we'd been in the sun all day, and I'm guessing that refreshing dip would have been better served by taking a nap! The grounds are amazing - the foliage is beautiful - Walking through the middle grounds, one would nearly forget that they are in the heart of SE LA!! Huge fragrant flowers, and again - immaculate.
Never did find the ice machine...then again, never did look for it. You are close to this road, and I did hear some traffic at night - a group of harleys driving by and the occasional diesel - but overall, an excellent place to stay!!

“You Won't Need an Alarm Clock”

Lemon Tree Hotel

2 of 5 stars
Bay Area, CA
Jun 7, 2008

My two teenage children and I stayed here one night during our 5-day trip to Disneyland. We booked the room @ Lemon Tree for the first day of our visit. After driving from the Bay Area for 6.5 hours, we were dead tired and we just needed a clean place to crash/sleep. We arrived around midnight and there was a clerk at the front desk to check us in without issue. The room was a double queen (n/smoking). It was small and what I would describe as 'rustic'. The bathroom is small. As mentioned by other clients, you need to stand in the shower/tub in order to close the bathroom door. There is no alarm clock in the roon but there is a clock on the wall.

At 5:30am the next morning, I realized why there is no need for an alarm clock in the room - the birds!! They wake you up when the sun rises and if you are a light sleeper, they will wake you up free of charge!! Also, your neighbor sitting in their lounge chair near your door while they smoke at 8am will help to wake you up. The birds and neighbors were not a problem for my teenagers since nothing wakes them from their sleep.

If you are thinking of going to Disneyland or Knott's - you must have a car to stay at this hotel (warning). It is not close to either attraction. If you have a car then it is no problem once you find the hotel. (Sign is hidden from the street.)

What I liked:
(1) relatively cheap ($78/night before tax)
(2) clean
(3) fridge in room

What I didn't like:
(1) birds, birds, birds (bring ear plugs)
(2) parking is tight but you don't have to park on the street
(3) furnishings were a little too rustic for me

Overall, in a pinch, I would stay here again but I would bring my ear plugs.
