We, my husband and 2 kids aged 5 and 7, stayed from June 7th to the 12th. You cannot beat the location...a mere 5 minute walk to the park entrance, 10 minutes if you meander. Our room was a concierge room that was booked through Alaska Airlines. We were in the back on the left and on the 2nd floor so nobody was above or beside us. Perfect. The room was clean and had 2 queen beds which where quite comfortable. There was enough room for the 4 of us and luggage, etc. Nice that the shower and sink were separate. Breakfast was standard fair and enough to fill up on. As part of our package we rec'd a hot sami so that was great. Very basic stuff, toast, cheerios, croissants and pastries. Just oranges and more fruit would have been better. The room had a fridge which was handy to store water and we never used the microwave. With all the activity at Disneyland we never used the pool. The front desk staff was okay except for Miss Letus who's the type to know everything and tries to make you think she's helpful but knows and does nothing. Make sure you ask to activate your phone for messages because they don't do that automatically. We didn't have a car for our stay so didn't have issues with parking. One night though because the cars park directly below the rooms, it was quite loud as a sport utility couldn't decide where to park. After a short 2 day trip to Legoland we returned for a day at Disney and wanted to park in a location that we were familiar with. Carousel charged us $11.00 for a 5 hour stay eventhough we never parked during our stay. Miss Letus again..so much for the concierge services.

The Carousel Inn and Suites was the low point of our recent trip. If you're looking for a good value and a decent hotel near Disneyland, take my advice: keep looking.

"Breakfast" at the Carousel does not exist. To start with, it is only served between the hours of 7 and 9am. Have to wake up and be somewhere? Sorry, no breakfast for you. Likewise if you are enjoying your vacation and sleep in. We only made it to the nonexistent continental breakfast once. Our choices were 3 options of stale cereal, or toast (yay toast!), or three types of really awful pastry. Nothing hot, nothing fresh. Nothing with a hint of protein. Not even a bagel. I've seen hotels that claim "continental breakfast" and provide glazed doughnuts. And I would have preferred even that arrangement.

There was no clock in the room. So we requested a wake-up call for our "Magic Morning". The call never arrived, and we lost that already-paid-for perk. We spent the day being thankful we didn't have a flight or business meeting that morning, because a mistake like that could get really ugly.

The room's television was broken. The room had three lamps, but none within reach of the bed. Call me pampered, but I was also disappointed to see that in the entire hotel, there was only one internet kiosk (pay-per-minute), located in the breakfast room, locked and unavailable except during the 2-hour breakfast window. Curiosity (and bargain-hunting) dies at 9am sharp - or immediately if you forget your credit card.

We chose the hotel in part for its rooftop pool. Despite the front desk claiming it (and the rest of the facility) was available, I found a padlock on the stairwell every time I tried. That was a bummer. And every time we went to or from the hotel, we were struck by its odd and unintuitive layout.

All of this was disappointing because we paid more than we had to. I was hoping to show my wife a great first-time Disney and hotel experience to wrap up our trip. The room was adequate, and the hotel in general was very clean. The rest was Not As Advertised. Had I known, I would have booked somewhere else and saved my of money.

I've been to this area before, so comparison is not difficult. With hotels crammed on every square inch of Harbor Blvd, you have at least 20 options within three easy walking blocks of Disneyland's main gate. All of them offer good traveler information and brochures. Most of them offer pools, and many offer real breakfasts (for free!) The whole area is clean - an extra $2 per night guarantees that you see the shiny side of LA, so you shouldn't fear the "seedy" bargain. Just find a good value for your money. The Carousel Inn and Suites does not qualify as such.

we stayed at this motel for a weekend in may, and let me tell you that parking is a big problem in this place. There is no place to park! we had to park our vehicle in the fire lane zone. what a big violation!!
the lady at the desk that check us in was too busy texting to help us with some directions cause we were send to the hotel next door to rent a computer with internet access. the young housekeeping guy told us that she was the manager of the hotel.
the rooms were very clean, but too small.
we are never coming back to this motel again, next time we will stay at the hilton or sheraton.

Location, location, location! This hotel is GREAT for location. When we arrived got our room and it reaked of cigarette smoke, even my 2 year old daughter covered her nose and said 'YUCK!" Went back to the front desk and they changed our room, no concern from them about the smell, they were more concerned about the free lunch from Quizno's that was sitting on the desk, Got our new room and it wasn't as big as I expected, the pictures are really different then in person, since we are only sleeping and bathing there then that's not a problem. Great thing was that there is a refrigerator and microwave in the rooms. Now that is awesome when you are traveling with a picky 2 year old that will only eat easy mac for breakfast! One thing that was irritating was when we took a shower the whole room fogged up and the windows were all steamy, the room was buring hot and it was really muggy in the room, I noticed this on the window of every room, aren't they afraid of MOLD??? I left the room with my makeup dripping off my face due to the sauna like feel from our room. The only reason I would stay here again would be cause the location and the fridge and microwave, If that doesn't mean much to you then I'd reccommend the Annabella Hotel. Now that was an awesome hotel but the walk to the park was soooo long! OH I almost forgot! The continental breakfast was a joke. A bunch of donuts some coffee and toast with a toaster. OMG, we got there right before the end of the breakfast and the staff was taking everything away, I had a half eaten donut, coffee without cream and sugar cause they took it away from me when i turned my back. It was a joke.
