Our family of four stayed at the Marriott Anaheim Residence Inn from July 8 to July 20, 2008 and we could not be more pleased. The room offered two queen size beds, a lovely living room with a pull out couch and fireplace, a full kitchen including a large refrigerator/freezer, full stove, sink dining table, and microwave. The room had a spacious bathroom with a separate changing area. There were 2 TV's which was nice for relaxing in the evening after being in Disneyland.
Parking was good, as was the pool and tennis area. I must add that it was difficult to park near your suite so it was a short walk from the car to the room.
It was great having free wireless in the room and outside of our room near the courtyard. The courtyard had a nice seating area and a couple of gas grills. We were able to log on quickly while having breakfast, before heading out for the day.
The grocery shopping service was fantastic. We ordered some whole fruit to take to the parks and it was as fresh as I would have chosen myself.
The desk staff was very accomodating. The breakfast buffet varied by day with consistent oatmeal, fruit salad, bananas, toast, muffins, yogurt, scrambled eggs, meat, cereal, and lovely make your own waffles which was a treat for the kids. The workers did a great job keeping the tables clean and the food replenished. It is often crowded at breakfast but we never found it difficult to find a clean table.
Our room was kept spotless and the linens were refreshed often. The housekeeping staff was very accomodating as well.
We paid $101 per night plus tax and felt that we received a good deal during the tourist season, especially with free breakfast , free parking and free wireless. We drove to the park and did not rely on Anaheim Transit. It is $12 per day to park at the Disneyland parks. We froze our water bottles and packed our own small meals/snacks which helped keep costs inside the parks down.
If you are in Anaheim with your family, you must try a great Italian restaurant (chain) Buca Di Beppa on Harbor Blvd. We ate at TIFFYS and it was by far the most disgusting food I have ever been served, and it was expensive. The Garden Walk across from the hotel and Downtown Disney had some great restaurants.
The Motel 6 and Wyndham World Mark are the hotels closest to this property. It is in a nice area, very close to the freeway (5).
Overall we had a great stay and hope to stay at the Marriott Residence Inn when we return to Anaheim.
