3 adults and 4 children made a last minute trip down to Disneyland over the President's Day weekend.
Since we did not plan more than 2 weeks in advance, the motel we usually stay in across from the Main Gate of Disneyland had no rooms available. Since we are out of the room from 7:30 AM until late at night, we always look for a low cost, clean and safe motel.
We ended up at the Anaheim-Buena Park Travelodge.
Overall, OK in a pinch, but a few issues will keep me from staying there again. They advertised a "deluxe continental breakfast". I think the powdered creamer for the coffe was what they thought made it "deluxe"
They had only coffee, orange juice, and small, boxed sugary pastries. No fruit or cereal or toast to be found. It was a 15-20 minute drive to the park. The parking was sparse. The rooms needed painting (we were given 2 rooms right across from the elevator on the 3rd floor and were told floors 1 and 2 were being renovated.) The rooms were clean, however there were cigarette burns in the sheets on 1 bed.
The price was right though, averaging $50 per night for a room with 2 Queen size beds, after they gave us a small discount because we were up half the night when 3 different groups of "guests" hung out by the elevators making a significant amount of noise.
Also, the motel advertised a Disney shuttle on their Web site, which was cancelled as of Jan. 1 - So the motel paid for our parking, which I thought was great.
So, if a budget is a top priority, and you need 2 queen beds in a room, you may consider staying at this motel, but bring your own oatmeal and juice (they did have a refrig. and microwave in each room)
