I arrived in Bangkok after travelling on the overnight train from Nong Khai to Bangkok, which is very basic! But even if I hadn't, I would still agree that the Amari Boulevard is very luxurious for a 4 star hotel.
We stayed in a deluxe room with a balcony, which was quite large, fitting in two big single beds and an extra bed with plenty of space. The beds were quite high and very comfortable, and of course covered in cushions!
The pool is in a nice area of the hotel (the 6th floor), but its quite noisy as the hotel is in prime position in Sukhumvit. The pool is always freezing though...even with the humidity of Bangkok.
I have to add that the breakfast in the hotel is amazing, with a huge variety of Asian and international breakfast foods.
The location is great, you step out of the door and you are right in the centre of the city, very close to the Skytrain and hundreds of bars/restaurants and the great streetside market.

We spent the last three nights of our Honeymoon at this hotel.
When we arrived they had upgraded us to lovely room and had decorated the bed with rose petals, there were rose petals in the bath and in the seperate shower.
When we arrived back after having a meal in the evening they had sent us a gorgeous honeymoon cake and a platter of fresh fruits and a dozen red roses.
The staff were very attentive and friendly , we could not fault this hotel.
The location for the sky train was five minutes walk and the location for bars and restaurants was brilliant.

“Fabulous Rooms.”

Amari Boulevard Hotel

Stayed at this hotel for 5 days and i really like their services. Called housekeeping on one of the nights for utensils, they couldn't understand,so they came right to our room and they finally understood what we wanted. Besides that,i think their service is pretty good. Breakfast at the hotel is fabulous. Loads of variety.

The rooms are really clean and nice, that includes the bathroom too. Beds are comfy and all.

Something bad about the hotel is the location. It is at the red light district. Not very safe for teenagers, was there on a school trip,so there was loads of us. Could see all the thai ladies and bars on the streets.

Good thing was that the hotel is also located opposite the 24h supermarket,so we can get whatever we want or need at any time of the day.

“Excellent Location”

Amari Boulevard Hotel

Apr 29, 2008

This hotel is located near to the SkyTrain and is excellent for anyone who is only staying in Bangkok for a few days. The decor is contemporary. The staff are very helpful and friendly, The rooms are extremely comfortable and spotless.
Even though this hotel is centrally located I found that I was not disturbed by any noise.
The pool is small, but who wants to sit around a pool if sightseeing? It was not busy.
We had breakfast, which was the usual buffet style and there was plenty of choice.
The hotel restaurant looked very nice, but we ate out so cannot advise on the food there.
There are excellent bars and restaurants close by. There is even a restaurant over the road where you can have Thai cooking lessons. We ate at this restaurant and the food was very good and inexpensive.
We only stayed 2 nights and was part of a deal with Thai airlines, but I would definitely stay there again.

“Not great”

Amari Boulevard Hotel

Apr 17, 2008

We had a quick stay at the Amari Boulevard Hotel for an overnight in transit between Siem Reap and Chiang Mai. As a result, we can't comment on the pool, restaurants, etc.

The hotel itself was just OK. We were upgraded to a deluxe room with a balcony. Balcony was very nice but since we were there for a very short time, we didn't get a chance to enjoy. The room was reasonably clean although the sheets were slightly stained but not "dirty" (i.e., sheet had been laundered). Check-in was smooth.

The location of this hotel is the real reason we are unable to recommend the hotel. We arrived at night, which is the wrong time for a first impression. The hotel appears to be located in a red light district, unbeknownst to us when we booked. Lots of women on the street and the bars around the hotel appear to be more go-go oriented than otherwise. Therefore, keep this in mind if you are looking to book this hotel.
