Excellent hotel - huge clean rooms, very comfortable bed, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast!

Area is ...interesting - lots of Western men with Thai 'brides' I'm afraid, but you can turn a blind eye to all that. Close to Skytrain station which is a plus.

We stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved the experience. The thing we appreciated most was the hospitable and friendly service of the staff, who were just too happy to help you out in whatever it was! As our flight landed in BKK very early in the morning, we needed an early check-in. When we reached the hotel at about 7.30am, they had a room ready for us in 20 mins! The concierge deserves a special mention. One night we were a little lost on our way to Bed Supperclub (5 mins. walking distance); the guy at the concierge noticed this and escorted us to the premises, all too happily.
We weren't very impressed with the Lobby, but the rooms are large and very comfortable. We even had a jacuzzi in our bathroom!
While the breakfast spread isn't great, it is sufficient.
All in all, we would definitely recommed President Solitaire.

thought this hotel was a bit tired and dated. there is a complimentary shuttle to the sky train but be aware that you have to make your own way back to the hotel from the sky train station, it is only a 5-10 minute walk just be sure to memorise the route! breakfast was not very exciting-limited choices. we booked a package which included complimentary transfer from the airport which i would thoroughly recommend ,we were greeted at the exit door and the guy took our bags off us immediately and showed us outside to our taxi. bangkok airport is MAD so we were pleased we did not have to haggle for a taxi. room was supposed to include fresh fruit but we never got it.

I have been visiting Bangkok for the last 15 years for business. During these years I always used to stay in JW Marriott which is considered to be one of the best business hotels in BKK.
However, starting last year, they started raising their rates, and I started to look for alternatives. I was lucky to find President Solitaire. The rooms are in my opinion much better than Marriott with free Wifi at half the cost. This is my 2nd stay here in 2008, and I just booked my room for my next trip in July. I can not be happier with this hotel.
The staff are great and helpful. The location is a little far from Sukhomvit, but we all can do a 10 minute walk. I strongly recommend this hotel to any road warrior. Great Business hotel.
